Miss Claus

Good evening,

A second post from me today to share a card I made for the DT call at the Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge I was on the design team before and it's a really great challenge, unfortunately about this time last year work commitments and the related stress got in the way and I had to give up my place on the team but I really enjoyed my time with them so I'm having another try, nothing ventured nothing gained!

The stamp I've used is Miss Clause by Sugar Nellie (personally I would spell it Miss Claus like Santa Claus but maybe that's just me or maybe it was a copyright thing!) and it's another that I picked up at the SEC in 2017 and am just getting around to inking up now!  I think she's rather cute!  I've also used some pretty old but well loved papers.  I'm trying to make the most of my existing crafty stash rather than buying too much more although I have to admit I did buy quite a bit in the Hobbycraft sale recently, oops!

Materials used:
Rubber stamp - Sugar Nellie Miss Clause
Promarkers
Sentiment stamp - LOTV
Patterned papers - Papermania Home for Christmas
Cardstock, buttons and twine from stash

Thanks for stopping by, be sure and check out the DT call too if it's something you'd be interested in!

Hugs,
Shona

Cute, Clean & Simple with the Cutie Pies

Good morning,

Yay a scheduled and on time post from me!  I'm not one for New Year's resolutions but I think this is probably one I should make that as far as possible I get my DT posts out on time!

So today we start a fantastic new challenge at the Cutie Pie Challenge Blog and our theme this month is Cute, Clean & Simple and we'd love you to join in the fun and share your cute CAS creations with us.  We don't have a sponsor this time around so I've used a Gorjuss stamp of my own for my card.

Materials used:
Gorjuss stamp - Oops a Daisy
Promarkers
Patterned paper - Forever Friends Summer Time
Sentiment stamp - magazine freebie
Cardstock, buttons and twine from stash

I sometimes find CAS can be hard to get just right - you're always tempted to put more on your card, especially if you're used to using a lot of layers or embellishments.  I have had to reel myself in a bit and in this case I think less is definitely more, especially when using a patterned paper!

Thanks for dropping by and thank you for the lovely comments on my last couple of posts, it's much appreciated as I know how time consuming this is.

Hugs,
Shona xx

First Christmas Card of 2019

Good evening,

I've popped on to post my first Christmas card of 2019.  I'd like to say it's never too early to start them but between you and me I had it coloured and the bones of it made before Christmas and just didn't get around to finishing it.  Better late than never and it's now ready and in my stash for this year!

This is the first time I've used this cute wee Milton stamp which I picked up at the SEC show in 2017 so it was about time he got coloured and made into a card!  The papers are ancient Papermania ones I bought not long after I first started card making and I still love them.

Hope everyone is having a good start to the new year.  I'm still struggling to get to grips with the Beta Blockers I've been put on for my heart condition (mild Dilated Cardiomyopathy), they are totally zapping my energy, not every day but quite frequently, it seems to come in waves, so if anyone has any info/tips that might help me please feel free to share in the comments.

Materials used:
Milton & Co clear stamp - Wild Rose Studio, Christmas Milton
Promarkers
Papers - Papermania Honey & Hugs Festive Frolicks
Sentiment - LOTV
Border punch - Fiskars Threading Water
Cardstock, buttons and twine from stash

Thanks for stopping by today.
Hugs,
Shona xx
