Dies & Digis with the Cutie Pies

Good evening,

Hope you had a good weekend.  I had a busy one away at a Cheer and Dance Competition with my daughter and I'm really pleased to share that not only did her youth cheer team come first but they were also grand champions!  Her other teams did well and she also got second place for her hip hop duet so a successful weekend indeed!

Ok, back to my DT duties!  Today we have a new challenge starting over at the Cutie Pies, our theme this time is 'Dies & Digis' and of course as always your creation must feature a cute character!

We are sponsored this challenge by Little Miss Muffet who kindly gave the design time some super cute images to play with.

I went with this gorgeous kitten image, as it had some daffodils and looked quite Spring like I decided to make an Easter card.

I used lots of different dies to fit the theme of the challenge.

Materials used:
Digi image - Little Miss Muffet
Promarkers
Craft UK kraft card
Docrafts Capsule Collection papers
LOTV sentiment
X-cut circle and scalloped circle nesting dies
Flower die - magazine freebie
Flower pot die - First Edition
Lacey Circle nesting die - Spellbinders
Border die - Sizzix/Craft Asylum
Ribbon, buttons, pearls and twine from stash

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look!

Birthday card with a winter sports theme!

Hello,

Just popping on to share this commissioned card I made recently.  The brief was a 60th birthday card with a Ski-ing theme!  When I agreed to make it I didn't realise it would be so difficult to come up with something that wasn't too Christmassy.  The task was made even more challenging as it couldn't be cute or girly!  I'm always up for a challenge though and thankfully managed to find this image on Etsy.

As the image was quite large I kept the layout simple and picked out some non girly colours and matched the papers to them.

Materials used:
Precoloured image - part of a downloadable set from Etsy
Number Dies - First Edition
Papers - Docrafts Hot Diggity Dog
Cardstock, button, twine and gems all from stash

Thanks for dropping by, have a great weekend whatever you're up to!

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

My first DT card for The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge

Hello!

I'm really excited to share my first DT card for The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge which launches it's first fortnightly challenge today!  We are a just for fun challenge where the theme is always anything goes for Christmas!  We'd love you to play along with us!

As we don't work with sponsors the DT members had a free rein on their creations so I chose to make a card using a Sugar Nellie rubber stamp.

I love this cute wee stamp - it's one I keep coming back to!  As I've not used any cardstock for matting and layering I've added some faux stitching to the papers for extra definition.

Materials used:
Stamp - Sugar Nellie, Furry Friends
Sentiment - LOTV
Promarkers
Papers - Boofle Christmas
Snowflake die - X-cut
Buttons, pearls and twine from stash

That's all for now, see you again soon.

Share An Oldie For Friday - Talent Spot @ Creativity Magazine

Hi there,

It's been a while since I joined in with 'Share an Oldie' started by Erika at Snappycrafts.  I know she is currently taking a break from blogging and I'm not sure if anyone else is still taking part but I thought I'd put this one on anyway as I found it while having a camera clear out!

This is a card I made back in early 2015 for the 'Talent Spot' in Creativity Magazine after they spotted a card of mine in the Docrafts online gallery (which I wan't even keen on!) and asked me to make a card for the magazine.  Sadly I no longer have time to post on there as well as on my blog but it was lovely to be asked at the time.

Docrafts provided most of the materials so it was really just a case of coming up with a layout.  The decoupage, papers, buttons, lace, ribbon, etc are all from Docrafts Simply Floral collection.

And here's the article in print

I'm really happy with how it turned out and it was fantastic seeing it in print - the only downside was that I didn't get the card back after it was photographed for the magazine.

Anyway, that's all for my Friday Oldie, have a fantastic weekend whatever you have planned.

Hugs,
Shona xx
