Add a Little Sparkle with the Cutie Pies

Good afternoon!

First of all Merry Christmas!  I hope you had as good a time as we had and we did it all again yesterday for my husband's birthday!

Secondly, apologies to the rest of the Cuties for posting this so late, December has gone in a blur and I feel like I haven't drawn breath, but, the good news is there is still plenty of time to take part in our current challenge.

The theme at the Cutie Pie Challenge this month is 'Add a Little Sparkle' as well as the essential cute image and I've used a fab image from our sponsor Little Miss Muffet and added a liberal amount of stickles to meet the theme!

Scrabble letters - Hobbycraft

Today I'm sharing a Christmas card I made for the Cutie Pie's Winter Layers challenge.  We are sponsored by the fantastic Crafty Sentiments Designs and I have used their fab Benson and Betty digi for my DT offering.

As usual I have used Promarkers to colour my image and have created layers using kraft card and some lush new Christmas papers.

Promarkers
Papers - A Jolly Holly Christmas from Hobbycraft
Sentiment Stamp - Round Robin set from Hobby Art Ltd
Cardstock, button, twine, etc from stash

Going Girly With The Cutie Pies

Hello,

A late post from me to share my latest DT card for the Cutie Pie Challenge.  Our theme this month is 'Going Girly' and we would love you to join us.

I've had a bit of an eventful few weeks since my last post.  I've been diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) which I've inherited through a faulty gene.  I've now had diagnostic tests which show slight dilation of the heart but the good news is that I can get started on medication which will hopefully stop it getting any worse, there's no guarantees but the prognosis looks good.  I start my meds tomorrow.  This was picked up through genetic testing rather than me having any symptoms as a family member suffered heart failure about a year ago and had to have an implantable defibrillator.  Happily he is doing well now.  Sadly, we've found that I've also passed the faulty gene on to our daughter.  Thankfully, she has no signs of DCM but will need regular screening to ensure things don't develop in the future.

Anyway, enough about me and on to my card.  I've used another Gorjuss stamped image for my card this month.  I've kept away from my usual colour palette and mainly used purples and greens this time.

Materials Used:
Stamp Set - Gorjuss
Sentiment Stamp - Personal Impressions
Promarkers
Flower & Leaves Dies - Crafter's Companion
X-cut scalloped rectangles dies
First Edition Storyteller papers
Cardstock, gems and card candi from stash

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Shades of Autumn With The Cutie Pies

Good morning,

A scheduled post from me today.  My daughter has a hospital appointment this morning and then it's off to work and school later.  Today I'm sharing my DT card for the Cutie Pie challenge.  Our theme this month is a very seasonal one... Shades of Autumn.  My daughter loves Autumn, possibly because her birthday month is September and definitely because the coffee shops start selling pumpkin spice lattes!  I like Autumn myself - all the fantastic colours and cosy darker evenings but not too cold for snow or frost just yet!  Having said that we've been enjoying lots of sun and warm temperatures this weekend and long may it last!

Anyway, enough waffling, on to my card... the DT were able to use an image of their choice so I went for a Gorjuss girl which I've coloured with Promarkers.  I've just given a nod to Autumnal shades rather than going full out with the oranges, rusts and browns.  The paper is one I've had for ages and really liked but never had occasion to use before now.

We are sponsored by Di's Digital Images and Crafty Ribbons for this challenge and they both have some fantastic prizes up for grabs, so what are you waiting for?  Come along and have fun!

Sporting Cuties with the Cutie Pies

Good morning,

A 'real time' post from me as I'm on annual leave.  We aren't going away anywhere at the moment so I'm looking forward to spending some time with our daughter before she goes back to school next week as well as catching up with housework (meh) and doing some much needed de-cluttering.  Not sure if I'll get as far as doing any craft supplies de-cluttering but we'll see how it goes.  The weather doesn't appear to be the best this week so I will make the most of doing indoor chores.

Anyhoo, today I'm sharing my DT card for the new Cutie Pie Challenge - our theme this month is Sporting Cuties πŸ€πŸπŸƒπŸ„πŸˆπŸŽΎπŸŽ― and we'd love you to come and share your projects with us!

For this challenge we are sponsored by Bugaboo

I have used one of their fab images for my card called Sunbonnet Fish 2 and a very old but very nice paper pack from We Are Memory Keepers with some faux stitching added.  As you can see I took a bit of a liberty with the sentiment stamp!

Materials used:
Bugaboo Digital Stamp - Sunbonnet Fish 2
Promarkers
Papers - We Are Memory Keepers Travel Light
Sentiment Stamp - Personal Impressions (tweaked by me)
Cardstock, buttons & twine from stash

That's all from me, I'd better get on with the chores!

Quick card for my Sister in Law

Hello,

I've just popped on to share a quick card I made recently for my sister-in-law's birthday.  I didn't really have anything suitable in my stash of 'made' cards and needed something quick so I used one of the freebie paper kits from Making Cards Magazine.  I more or less followed one of the worked examples, adding my own twist with some faux stitching around the cat image.

Since I can't really say this design is my own I'm not entering it into any challenges.  But thank you to Making Cards for the inspiration and fantastic gifts as well as a fantastic magazine!

Bingo with the Cutie Pies

Hello,

Today (better late than never!) I'm sharing my DT card for the Cutie Pies.  This time around we have a bingo board for you and we'd love you to join in!  The DT were able to use an image of their own choice for this challenge so I went with this unidentified cutie which was given to me by a friend.  It's a rubber stamp but came to me without any packaging so I've no idea who to credit for it but I love it all the same!  If you have any idea what brand it might be please add a comment so I can give credit to the artist.

For my card I've selected bow, buttons and flowers from the bingo board below

and just to let you know this challenge is being sponsored by the Cuties ourselves and there's a fantastic prize up for grabs for our lucky winner

So on to my card..

Materials used:
Papers - Cart Us Country Rose
Image unknown
Promarkers
Sentiment stamp - Personal Impressions
Cardstock, buttons, ribbon & twine all from stash

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek at my work, it's much appreciated.

Spots and dots with the Cutie Pies!

Good morning,

It's been a strange few weeks since I published my last blog post.  I had a couple of weeks off work due to stress and feeling burnt out.  I just couldn't keep all the plates spinning and needed a bit of time to clear my head.  I'm feeling much better now and went back to work towards the end of last week.  I'm slowly learning that I need to pace myself and ask for help when I need it and also make some more time for myself (doctor's orders!) instead of always running around everyone else, but sometimes it's easier said than done!  We've also had some brilliant sunny weather and I really enjoyed spending time outdoors while I was off.  My husband has just finished transforming an area of our garden, which is a complete suntrap and previously undervalued and just used to store our wheelie bins, into a gorgeous seating area which I now retreat to as often as possible!

So, on to my DT card for the latest Cutie Pie challenge.  Our theme this month is 'Spots and Dots' and as always you must include a cute character on your project to be in the prize draw.  We have Crafty Sentiments sponsoring us and they have a fantastic prize for our lucky winner!  I've chosen their gorgeous 'couples' image for my own card.  For a change (and this is a first for me) I've used kraft card to colour on - a definite advantage of using pencils over markers!  I quite like how it's turned out, especially for a first attempt.

Good afternoon,

Hope you're all having a fantastic Easter.  I have had a lovely weekend and even better still I'm not back to work until Wednesday, I'm only working 2 and a half days this week and next.  Sadly the weather is really cold and miserable although we don't have any more snow (yet)!  Still it's nice to get some time off and not be rushing around for a change!

Spring Cuties With The Cutie Pies

Good morning!

Today I bring you a scheduled and on time post yippee!  I'm here to share my DT card for the latest Cutie Pie Challenge - our theme this time is 'Spring Cuties' and we are sponsored by the fabulous Bugaboo!

http://www.bugaboostamps.com/

For my card I've used one of their super cute digi images called Flower Bird which I've coloured with Promarkers.  Whilst I now love my Polychromos I've not yet found a suitable paper for printing on that I don't have to pre cut to size so for now I'm saving them for rubber stamped images rather than digis.  Actually, I think I love them both equally and there's certainly room in my world for both!  It's a complete fluke that my image matches the papers as I coloured the image before I chose the paper - lucky guess!  I think the sentiment goes really well with the image too, It's been in my stash for ages just waiting for the right moment!

Materials used:
Bugaboo digi image - Flower Bird
Crafter's Companion Solar White Neenah cardstock
Promarkers
MME Happy Day papers
Magazine freebie sentiment stamp
Black cardstock, button and twine from stash.

Thanks so much for dropping by, we'd love you to come and share your cute creations with us!

Hugs,
Shona xx

James Bear Valentine

Hi folks,

I'm just hopping on to share my Valentines card I made for the last Cutie Pie Challenge.  Sadly this challenge is almost closed but there's still a little time left to join us if you're quick.  Otherwise why not join us for a fantastic new challenge beginning on the 12th!

It's been a mad few weeks hence the lack of blogging.  I've now reverted back to my old job and am feeling much less stressed now.  I just need to get my crafting mojo back and I'll be sorted!

So on to my card.  This is the first time I've coloured this image and I've also used Polychromos rather than my usual Promarkers.  I'm really starting to love colouring with pencils and as my confidence grows so does my pencil collection!

James Big Heart stamp - LOTV
Faber Castell Polychromo pencils
sentiment stmap - Dovecraft
papers from Poundworld
