Optional Ribbons and Bows at Christmas With The Cuties

Good morning,

Another scheduled post on a Monday morning as I'm working, sadly this isn't one of my public holidays at work.  Scotland are different to England.  Never mind I'm planning on taking the following Monday off as our schools have this day off, I'm not sure why, especially when they're all closed anyway!

Anyway, back to my card.  Today we have a new challenge starting at Christmas with the Cuties, our theme this month is everyone's favourite Anything Goes with the option of 'Ribbons and bows' and we are sponsored by Crafty Ribbons.  The design team got to choose their own images for this challenge so I went for a cute pre-coloured topped from Sylvia Zet.  I love the colour theme of these toppers - the teal and red and they go so well with the paper I've chosen which I think is from an old Docrafts Me To You range.  I've distressed most of the edges to give a bit of a shabby chic look.  The ribbon was rescued off an Avon gift set my daughter got for Christmas and again, the colours tie in with the topper.

Materials used:
Pre-coloured Topper - Wee Stamps by Sylvia Zet - Winter Friends
Sentiment stamp - Personal Impressions by Paula Pascual
Snowflake punch - Hobbycraft
Cardstock, ribbon and pearls from stash

Thanks for dropping by today.

Take care and stay safe.

Hugs,
Shona xx

Another Little Piggy for the Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge

Good morning,

Today I have a scheduled post and I'm sharing my latest DT card for the Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge.  As always our theme is anything Christmas goes.  Like last fortnight's card I've used some of the fab freebies from Making Cards Magazine - these really are fab freebies, they're so versatile.  You might have seen in my recent posts that I'm on a mission to declutter and make a decent crafting space for myself and using up stash like this helps as I have accumulated so much 'stuff' and although it's all very pretty and useful, there's just too much of it and I need to downsize.  Well a little bit anyway, nothing too drastic mind!

I've layered up the papers with white cardstock as the paper is a little thin then distressed the edges.  I've finished off my card with a die-cut snowflake topped with a signature button, a sentiment and some pearls.

Materials used:
Image and patterned papers - Making Cards Magazine
Sentiment - LOTV
Snowflake die - Hobbycraft own brand
Remaining items from stash

Well that's all from me for the moment, I'm working (at home) today but I hope you all have a great day whatever you have planned.

Hugs,
Shona xx

Pretty in Pink with the Cutie Pies

Hello,

Today I'm sharing my DT card for the Cutie Pie Challenge where our new theme is 'Pretty in Pink'.  This month I've joined the mid month inspiration post but there's still plenty time to enter!  We're sponsored by the fantastic Polkadoodles who have a fab prize for our winner.  I've used one of their amazing pre-coloured images for my card.

I've used 3 different patterned papers and distressed the edges to give a shabby chic look.  I've finished off my card with some vellum flags and punched flowers and some striped ribbon.  This card is a bit of a stash buster most of the supplies came from a goody bag from a JMC Designs mixed media workshop!

Materials used:
Pre-coloured image - Polkadoodles
Sentiment stamp - Personal Impressions
Flower punch - Docrafts
All other materials from stash

In other news my husband and I have decided to rearrange our office into a joint office/craft room/DJ studio!  We currently use it as an office and somewhere to store my craft supplies and his vinyl albeit very haphazardly with lots of other junk thrown in for good measure.  We've made a start by moving the printer off the desk and giving the whole desk area a good tidy and at last I have enough surface to be able to craft in there!  There's still a way to go but we're getting there.

Anyway, that's all from me, I'm on my lunch break - back to work now!

Hugs,
Shona xx

Willow for JMC Designs

Good evening,

Today I'm sharing a card I made to celebrate the gorgeous freebie digi stamp that JMC Designs are generously offering for a limited time in conjunction with the Kit & Clowder Facebook group.  She's called Willow and I think you'll agree she's a cracker - why do I never look like this when I'm gardening.  I usually sport the dragged through a hedge backwards look!

Anyway on to my card and I thought I'd give a circular card a try, I've not actually made one before, well I've made a circular easel card several times but not a single fold card.  I think it turned out ok and it's pretty stable-ish!  I used some bright gardening themed papers that are an old favourite and coloured Willow to match.  Actually she's quite bright, you might need your sunnies!

Materials used:
Digi stamp - Willow by JMC Designs
Promarkers
Patterned Papers - Springtime from Hobbycraft
Sentiment - Pebbles Inc
Circle/Scalloped circle dies - X-cut
Flower pot die - Trimcraft
Flower die - magazine freebie
Cardstock, buttons & twine from stash

That's all from me for tonight, it's just about time to make dinner then chill with some colouring later.

Hugs,
Shona xx

Little Piggy for the Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge

Good morning,

A scheduled post from me today to share my DT card for the latest Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge
who can believe it's May already?  I'm now on week 8 of lockdown, hard to believe the time is still flying past so quickly even though our lives have slowed down a lot.  There's always stuff to do though.  Last night after work I spent an hour starting to sort out 'stuff' in the joint office/craft storage room.  I don't craft in there as there's not enough desk space but that's where I do my blogging and keep all my equipment and the bulk of my stash.  Although, having said that I have a set of drawers and my craft trolley in the hall and currently a large plastic storage box of dies under the kitchen table, oh and just remembered a few box files of A4 papers in the bedroom.  Oops I really need to get everything sorted into one place!  Anyway, I then made dinner then had another 2 hours decluttering time before catching up with an episode of Power and a glass of red.  It's going to take many more hours before everything is ship shape but I'm sure I'll get there!

Ok, so for this fortnight's challenge I decided to make a circular card for a change off my usual square offerings.  In the spirit of using up stash I used some freebie papers (including the little piggy image) from Making Cards, my favourite magazine.  I've used some snowflake die-cuts and punched shapes to finish off my circular easel card.  I made a second card with the same papers but that's to share another day!  Please excuse the photo, I had to take it in the daytime so ended up with dark shadows.

Materials used:
Patterned paper & image - Making Cards magazine
Sentiment - LOTV
Scallop circle die - X-cut
Large snowflake die - Hobbycraft own brand
Small snowflake punch - Hobbycraft?
Cardstock, card candi, button & twine all from stash

That's all from me for now.

Stay safe.

Hugs,
Shona xx
