I ♥ Promarkers DT Card - Vintage/Retro

Hello!

At last here I am with my I ♥ Promarkers DT card!  'm very late posting on my blog.  The week has just been a whirlwind of social events and Christmas prep and of course still trying to fit in all the usual house work and chores!

Our theme this week is Vintage/Retro and we are sponsored by The Paper Shelter!

I was lucky enough to be able to pick a sponsor image for the challenge so I chose 'Little Hazel' as I thought it fitted with our theme really well.  It's been coloured with Promarkers of course.

The papers are LOTV as is the sentiment stamp.  The Ivy corner dies are by Marianne.  All other dies by X-cut.  Trimcraft Ribbon and pearls finish off my card.

That's all from me tonight it's time I was in bed!

I ♥ Promarkers DT Card - Anything Goes

Good evening,

I'm still playing catch up and my to do list is taking on a life of it's own!  Tonight is the only full night I'll have at home this week!  Is everyone else snowed under or is it just me and everyone else is organised and calm???  My 'duties' tonight include cleaning out the hamster cage, dying my hair and thankfully, making a card if I ever get to it!

So on to the important bit... today is the start of another fab challenge over at I ♥ Promarkers, this week our theme is everyone's favourite 'Anything Goes' and we are sponsored by the fab Dr Digi!

For my card I used a fun image from our sponsor called 'Snow Fun' which I've coloured with Promarkers.

The paper is Trimcraft The Night Before Christmas and was a recent magazine freebie.  I've used Tim Holtz letter stickers and a felt snowflake, button and twine to finish off my simple card.

That's all from me - back to my chores!

Dream Valley DT Card - Punches and Dies

Hello!

Wow, what a busy weekend!  A normal weekend is busy for me but right now I feel like I'm running around like a headless chicken with all the Christmas shopping and extra activities going on.

Ok, so on to my card...  Today we have a new challenge starting over at Dream Valley Challenges, our theme this week is 'Die-cuts and Punches' and we are sponsored by Di's Digi Designs.

For my card I've gone for a Helz Cuppleditch stamp which I've coloured with Promarkers.  I got it in a Hobbycraft sale a couple of years ago but this is it's first outing!  I really love it and I'm a bit ashamed I've never used it before.

I've used a paper from my Folk Florals 12x12 pad and have used an EK Success paw print border punch on the bottom edge.  As well as the puch I've also used Memory Box Precious Hearts dies and X-cut circle and scalloped circle dies.  The sentiment is by LOTV and my card is finished off with some gingham ribbon and a toning button.

That's all from me for the moment, I'm off to write some to do lists - lots and lots of to do lists!

I ♥ ProMarkers DT Card - Winter

Good Morning,

A scheduled post from me today.  Today we have a fab new challenge starting at I ♥ ProMarkers, our theme this week is 'Winter' and we are sponsored by Marianne Design who have a great prize lined up for our lucky winner.

This week the DT had free reign to use a stamp or digi of their own so I plumped for 'My Friend Flakey' from Sugar Nellie, which I coloured of course, with Promarkers.

The paper is by Hot Off The Press and was part of a Christmas Inspiration magazine/stamp/cd combo I picked up a couple of years ago.  I've used a dull Champagne coloured metallic card to die cut a border (Frostyville Border from Memory Box) as well as Snowflake corner die and Precious Stars also from MB.  The sentiment is a freebie from Netty's Cards which I've coloured blue with Promarkers.  I've finished off my card with some matching ribbon and a gem which is dark grey in real life but looks amber in this photo!

That's all from me just now.  Please be sure to check out our challenge and see what the rest of the DT have been up to.

Hugs,
Shona xx

I ♥ ProMarkers DT Card - New Home

Good evening,

I'm a bit late posting my DT card on my own blog this week.  I've been battling a cold (with a horrible chesty cough) this week.  I'm starting to feel a bit more human again thankfully.  But I feel like I'm getting everything going just now:(  Nothing a week in the Bahamas wouldn't fix I'm sure!!!

Our theme this week at I ♥ ProMarkers is 'New Home' coincidetally I'd been commissioned to make a 'First Christmas in your New Home' card so thought I'd combine the two!

I used a fab 'Snow Globe' Digi from our sponsors Stitchy Bear which of course I've coloured with Promarkers adding a bit of liquid pearls for the falling snow and a lot of Stardust Stickles for the fallen snow!

The papers are MME Merry and I've added a die cut Lacey Circle mat and a snowflake made using an X-cut die.  I've finished off my card with a puched snowflake, button, spotty ribbon and pearls.

Incidentally this is the first and last time you'll se me using this little snowflake puch as I broke it on it's first outing :(  my kraft card was too thick for it to cope with!  I read on the back of the packaging (afterwards) that it only worked up to a certain gsm.  Hindsight is a wonderful thing!  Just as well it was a cheapy from Hobbycraft!

That's all from me today.  I'm away to fix some hot honey and lemon before I'm a Celebrity gets started!

Dream Valley DT Card - Stitching Real or Faux

Good morning,

Wow, what a mad week it's been.  As well as working Monday to Friday I think I had something on every night this week culminating in my daughter taking part in auditions for Britain's Got Talent with her hip hop group last night!  It's a waiting game now to see if they make it through to the next stage but they danced their socks off and had fun and that is the main thing!

So, on to my card... we have a fab new challenge over at Dream Valley Challenges.  Our theme is 'Stitching (Real or Faux)'.

Our sponsor is The Hobby House

I've used an image and sentiment from Digistamp Boutique and coloured it with Promarkers.

The papers are cut from a Docrafts Folk Floral 12x12 pad using a Spellbinders nesting squares die.  The sentiment was cut using a die from the Pierced Flags set by Sue Wilson from Creative Expressions.  I've added faux stitching to just about everything using a black fine liner pen.  The only other thing I've added is a button tied with some twine.

That's all from me for the moment.  Hope you have a great week.

Hugs,

I ♥ Promarkers DT Card - Traditional Christmas

Good Evening,

Sorry I was so late posting my DT card last night that I didn't get around to scheduling a post.  I need to get myself more organised.  I think that will have to be my new years resolution!

Anyway, back to business.  Today marks the start of this week's fab challenge at I ♥ Promarkers.  Our theme this week is 'Traditional Christmas'.  I'm sure, like me, you still have some Christmas cards to make so why not join us and perhaps you might win a prize from our sponsors, we have 2 this week!

and

I have used a sponsor image from the Stamping Boutique called Chubby Snowman and coloured it with Promarkers.

I thought the 'Traditional Christmas' theme suited these fab Classic Christmas papers from LOTV which I've added some faux stitching to, as well as distressing the edges.  The sentiment is also by LOTV.  I've added some buttons, pearl hearts, spotty organza ribbon and a brad from Dovecraft's Santa's Workshop range to finish off my card.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Share an Oldie on Friday - Munro Bagging!

Good morning!

Wow it's been ages since I was organised enough to post an oldie for Friday!  If you haven't heard of 'Sharing an Oldie' it's something Erika at Snappycrafts started where we can share some of our older creations.  It's a great way of looking back and comparing how our crafting styles might have changed over time!

This card isn't all that old I made it earlier in the year for a commission but I didn't post it at the time.  The spec I was given for the card was a retirement card for a lady who enjoys Munro Bagging (Munros are Scottish mountains over 3000ft and the 'bagging' is having climbed them and ticked them off your list).  It was really difficult to find an image of a lady climber/hillwalker without it looking too comical.  In the end I decided to make a colourful map of some of the Munros the focal point of the card with a couple of small images of boots and a compass from Little Claire coloured with Promarkers added to tie in with the walking theme.

I've added a Computer generated sentiment, gingham paper and a matching brad.  This was a tricky commission to get right but hopefully the recipient was happy with it!

Have a great weekend folks whatever you've got planned!

Baby Boy Commissioned Card

Good morning,

Just for a change here's a non-DT card I made a few weeks back!  I was asked by one of my fellow school mums to make a new baby card for a friend.  Now if there's something I enjoy making it's baby cards as I love all things cute and gooey so I jumped at the chance!

Apologies in advance for blurring out the name on the photo but I didn't want the full name to show along with the DOB etc for privacy.

I've made a patchwork background using some papers from the Papermania Festive Spots & Stripes Capsule Collection and Spellbinders Swatches Nesties, adding some kraft card die cut stars, buttons and faux stitching.  I've added the babies details on to a die cut shape made using an X-cut door plate die.  I've added a sentiment from LOTV and a digi image from the Forever Friends New Arrivals CD which I've coloured with Promarkers.  I don't often use CDs but this is one I've used a few times and really like.

That's all from me this morning, hope you have a good day whatever you're up to.

Hugs,

I ♥ Promarkers DT Card - Food & Drink

Good morning,

It's Wednesday so that means the start of another fab challenge over at I ♥ Promarkers  This week our theme is 'Food and Drink' and our sponsor is the fab Just Inklined.

I chose a fab digi from our sponsor called 'Feed The Birds', which of course has been coloured with Promarkers.  I love the retro feel to it.  I'm not sure about other parts of the UK but sadly it's been years since we stopped getting milk delivered in glass bottles, this kind of thing just wouldn't happen now with a 4 pint plastic carton from Tesco!

To be totally honest I was a little bit daunted colouring this as it's not the type of image I would normally go for but I needn't have worried as it was a joy to colour and I really enjoyed doing something out of my comfort zone.  As soon as I chose my image I knew what paper pack I would go for - Home to Nest by Lucy Cromwell, but in the end I just chose one paper from the pack and teamed it with a checked paper from a We Are Memory Keepers pad for a little added colour.  Ive matted the papers on to kraft card and also used a new kraft polka dot washi tape from Dovecraft.  It took me ages to get into washi tape but I'm converted now! I've finished off my card with a birthday sentiment from LOTV, a bird charm from the Papermania Sew Lovely range, pearls and a raffia topped button.

That's all from me for now, thanks for stopping by.

Hugs, Shona xx

Dream Valley DT Card - Shaped Cards

Hello again!

I'm back to share my DT card for Dream Valley Challenges - our theme this week is 'Shaped Cards' (no squares or rectangles) and we are sponsored by the fab

The DT were allowed to use an image of their choice so I inked up one of my favourite Magnolia stamps, coloured with Promarkers and went for a circular easel Christmas card.

I just have a Big Shot die-cutting machine so I'm not able to use the larger dies such as Grand Nestabilities for shaped cards so I've used a pre-cut card blank from La Pasche.  I've covered the blank with a pink holly paper from an ancient Festive Frolics Honey & Hugs paper pack from Docrafts.  I've used Centura Pearl card to die cut a floral circle from a Stampin' Up/Sizzix Framelits Floral Frames set and an X-cut Snowflake Circle die.  The sentiment is by LOTV and I've added Star Dust Stickles to the sentiment edges as well as the image.  My card is finished off with pink Scrapberry pearls and some spotty organza ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by, have a great day whatever you have planned.

Hugs,

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Cutie Pie DT Card - Cute, Clean, Simple and Christmassy!

Good morning!

It's new challenge day over at The Cutie Pie Challenge and this month's theme is Cute, CAS & Christmas!  We have 2 fantastic sponsors for this challenge:

and

I'm sure like me you still have a few Christmas cards to make so why not join us?  The DT were allowed to use a cute image of their choice so I went for an old favourite rubber stamp - Furry Friends by Sugar Nellie.

Apologies for the poor photo the Centura Pearl card I used just wasn't playing ball!  Anyway, the image was coloured with Promarkers and I added Star Dust Stickles to the furry bits of clothing.  The embossing folder is a new one by Sheena Douglass called Christmas Greetings.  The only other element on my CAS card is some pale blue gingham ribbon.

That's me for now, I'll be back a little later with another DT offering!

I ♥ Promarkers DT Card - Music

Good Morning,

It's the start of another new challenge over at I ♥ Promarkers.  This time our theme is Music and we are sponsored by the fab Kenny K.

For my DT card I've used a digi called 'Boogie Down' and coloured it with Promarkers.

I've made a CAS layout using an X-cut star die to make an aperture putting some MME My Girl patterned paper behind.  I've finished off my card with a rub-on sentiment from Kaisercraft.

Thanks for stopping by.

Dream Valley DT Post - Feeling Blue

Good morning,

A scheduled post from me today because I'm back at work after my few days off.  As usual it didn't feel nearly long enough.  I wasn't feeling 100% with a really sore throat for the last few days so we didn't get up to very much but it was just nice to chill for a while in between housework oh and I did get a good chunk of my Christmas shopping done already so that can't be bad!

Ok, onto the challenge and this weeks theme at Dream Valley Challenges is feeling blue and we are sponsored by Sherri Baldy.

I've chosen a digi called Lil Lovely Hearts & Roses and coloured it with Promarkers

To fit our blue theme I've made a patchwork background using Burleigh Blue Capsule Collection papers and a sizzix die.  I've finished my card simply with a rub-on sentiment from Kaisercraft and a twine topped button.

Thank you for stopping by, be sure and check out our challenge.

I ♥ ProMarkers DT Card - Time

Good morning!

I'm on time yay!  I'm on holiday for the rest of the week double yay!  Before I share my I ♥ ProMarkers DT card with you I'd like to share a photo of myself in traditional Highland dress!

Haha this was taken at the photo booth they had set up at the Inverness Street Festival last week!  I know I'm small but this is just crazy!

Ok, now I've given you a laugh at my expense, on to the challenge...  This week our theme is TIME and we would love you to join us, we are sponsored by Bunny Zoe

This challenge we were able to use stamps of our choice to fit the theme.  I used a Papermania Chronology background stamp to stamp my own backing paper.  This was my first attempt at creating my own background!  I teamed this with one of the new Gorjuss stamps called The Hatter which I coloured with Promarkers.

I've kept the layout quite simple and added a sentiment from the LOTV Pretty Grungy Relations set straight onto the backing paper.  I've also added some washi tape and a button topped with a twine bow.  It's a bit more grungy than my usual makes but I quite like how it's turned out and I know just the girl to give it to!

That's all from me at the moment, not quite sure what we'll get up to today yet...

Hugs,
Shona xx

I ♥ ProMarkers DT Card - Anything Goes

Good Morning

Yay it's Wednesday and as I'm typing this (scheduled) post I'm hoping that I will be feeling a bit better by the time this goes live as I have an awful sore throat and feel a cold is creeping up on me!

In happier news it's also the start of a new challenge over at  I ♥ ProMarkers - our theme this week is everyone's favourite 'Anything goes' just remember you need to use Promarkers, Flexmarkers, etc on your entry!  Our sponsor this week is the fab Dr Digi!

I have used one of their fab digi's 'Slam Dunk Duncan' for my DT Card, as always it's been coloured with Promarkers.

The papers are from Curiosity Corner by Trimcraft and I've cut the stars using an X-cut set.  The sentiment is by Personal Impressions and I've used Sizzix dies to cut the letters for 'Son'.

That's all from me just now, thanks for stopping by.

Hugs, Shona xx

Dream Valley DT Card - Halloween

Hello again,

I'm back to share my DT card for the current challenge at Dream Valley Challenges.  Our theme this time is 'Halloween' and we are sponsored by Imagine That.

For my DT card I used a freebie image that I downloaded quite a few years back from Dearie Dolls, I'm not sure that they are still on the go.  It's been coloured with Promarkers.

I've die cut a city scape using a Tim Holtz die then backed the 'windows' with some coloured cardstock.  I've backed everything with some uber glittery purple card (the photo really doesn't do it justice) and added a moon.  I've finished off my card with some black foam scrapbooking letters to say Boo!

Thanks for dropping by,
Shona xx

Cutie Pies DT Card - Pretty in Pink!

Good evening,

Tonight I'm sharing with you my DT card for the current Cutie Pie Challenge our theme this time is Pretty in Pink and as always we are looking for a cute image on your card or project as well!  Our sponsors are Crafty Sentiments and Bunny Zoe who have some fab prizes for our winners.

I've used a Crafty Sentiments digi on my card and gone for a Christmas theme.  I've coloured in the image with Promarkers.

I've fussy cut the image and layered it onto a die cut circle which is sitting on another circle I embossed onto kraft card using an X-cut embossing folder which again, I then fussy cut around.  I think the paper is from a Boofle pack.  I've added a LOTV sentiment, felt snowflakes and some checked ribbon and a matching bow.

Thank you for stopping by.

Hugs,
Shona xx

I ♥ ProMarkers DT Post - Anything But a Card

Hello,

Sorry I was too late on the go last night to schedule my post for this morning - I only finished my tag and got it on the challenge blog around 1am :(  Work is still a bit mad and I'm still on my own, that's almost 6 weeks now.  There is light at the end of the tunnel though, just as well as I'm coming home drained every evening and as usual crafting is the first thing that suffers.  Unfortunately it's not as essential as looking after my family and sleeping (please note I don't really count housework as an essential apart from keeping up with the washing and keeping the bathroom and kitchen clean, the hoovering and dusting and ironing can wait!!!)

So back to my tag... Our theme this week at  I ♥ ProMarkers is 'Anything But A Card' and we are sponsored by the fab

As time was against me I decided to make a tag for the challenge rather than anything more complex.  I love making tags as I find working with a small blank space to fill easier than a large one (note to self maybe give ATC's a go!).  I decided on a Christmas theme and then had a rummage through my rubber stamps to find a suitable image that would fit on the tag.  In the end I picked Poinsettia Girl by Sugar Nellie and coloured her with Promarkers.

The coloured tag is by Papermania and I used an X-cut die to make snowflakes out of newsprint paper from Stampin' Up for the background, adding some little buttons to the snowflakes.  The '25' stamp is by Paula Pasqual and the sentiment stamp is from a Lucy Cromwell set that was a magazine freebie, both were stamped on kraft card and I used an X-cut mini die to cut the label shape.  I've added some gingham star trim from Hobbycraft, ribbons and a charm to finish my tag.

Thanks for stopping by and I will try to catch up with all your blogs in the near future.

Shona xx

I would like to enter my tag into the following challenge:

I ♥ ProMarkers DT Card - Masculine

Good morning,

Another scheduled post from me today.  I'd like to think I'm getting back into some sort of routine and getting a bit more organised although I'm still on my own at work and so busy I'm coming home a bit shell-shocked every evening lol!  Apart from work being hectic just now, all the birthdays, parties, sleepovers and other extra bits we've had on over the few weeks are now tailing off so I can relax a bit more.

Today's card is my DT make for I ♥ ProMarkers - our challenge this week is 'Masculine' and we are sponsored by Opal Crafts

My Sister in Law has commissioned me to make 17 cards between now and January so I decided to make a card that would fit with the challenge theme as well as tick one of the cards off her list!

This is the first time I've used this LOTV stamp, my crafty friend Fiona gave it to me a while back.  I caught sight of this magazine freebie backing paper when looking for something else recently and thought it would match the stamp perfectly!  The paper was trimmed to fit a pre-cut Kanban card blank.  The image has been coloured with Promarkers then mounted on a circle die cut that I inked when it was still in the die.  I used the same technique with the banners which were cut using Creative Expressions dies.  I added the sentiment with a stamp from a set by Papermania, the birthday sentiment stamp is also from LOTV.  I've finished off the card with a foam number, matching buttons and some bakers twine.

That's all from me just now, hope you'll pop along to join in with the challenge and see what the rest of the DT have been up to.

Hugs, Shona xx

DT Card Dream Valley Challenges - Bingo!

Good Morning,

Back to work for me today so this is a scheduled post.  All the local schools were closed for in-service staff training on Thursday and Friday last week so it meant a nice long weekend not just for Iona but for mum too!

So, today I have my DT card for Dream Valley Challenges to share with you.  Our theme for this challenge is 'Bingo' so just like the game you can choose a line in any direction or you could go all out and go for a full house!

We are sponsored by

and

For my card I chose the middle horizontal row - Patterned Paper/Pink/Faux Stitching and a free to download All Dressed Up digi from www.papercraftmagazines.com.  The digi is meant to be for a wedding and should have a 'Just Married' sentiment but I got creative and used an eraser tool to get rid of the writing!

I've paper-pieced some of the image and coloured the remaining bits with Promarkers.  I've used Papermania Born to Shop papers throughout, adding faux stitching to the main backing paper.  The sentiment is from LOTV and I've used a mix of X-cut and Spellbinders dies.  My card is finished off with some gingham ribbon and black gems.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Wishing you all the best for the week ahead.

I ♥ ProMarkers DT Card - Get Well/Speedy Recovery

Good evening,

Finally got peace to get on the PC!  My daughter has a pal over for a sleepover so it's been all go.  Tonight I'm sharing my DT card for I ♥ ProMarkers.   Our theme this week is 'Get Well Soon or Speedy Recovery' and we are sponsored by the fantastic QKR Stampede who provided the DT team with some fab digis  for the challenge.

I've used one of their gorgeous designs called Smiling Flowers for my card which has been coloured with Promarkers.

The image is quite large so I kept it as the focal point and added a sentiment to the digi using word.  The papers are Docrafts Folk Florals and the resin flower was a magazine freebie.

That's all for now.

Cutie Pies DT Card & Our 4th Birthday!!!

Hello,

Here I am making apologies again but this time I'm afraid technology got the better of me and I was without Broadband for 3 days at the start of last week.  It's still not that stable and BT have been less than helpful and the latest news is that I have to monitor it for yet another 48 hours.  I have to say I was really at a loss without it.  Of course my mobile phone has internet but as it's a Galaxy S4 mini the screen is pretty tiny to navigate to use it for anything meaningful!

So, at last!  Here's my post for the Cutie Pie's 4th Birthday Challenge.  Actually it is also my first birthday from when I started on their desgn team so double celebrations!  For this challenge as well as a Birthday theme we have a fab sketch for you to follow too!

And we have not one, not two but THREE sponsors for this challenge!

I've used a fab freebie image from one of our sponsors - All Dressed Up for my card

I've coloured my image with Promarkers then fussy cut around it.  The papers are from a Docrafts Capsule Collection and the border punch is by Martha Stewart.  The stamp is from a magazine freebie set.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do hope you join in our Birthday celebrations!

Hugs, Shona xx
