Cutie Pie DT Card - All The Three's

Good Morning,

Woop woop, here I am with my first DT card for the Cutie Pie Challenge!  I'm very proud that my card is just in time for their 3rd Birthday Challenge which is appropriately 'All The Three's'!  You can interpret that as you wish but please remember you must have a cute image on your entry to be in with a chance of winning or a top 3 spot.  Talking of winning we have not one but three fantastic sponsors for this challenge - Crafty Ribbons, My Mum's Craft Shop and Just Some Lines!

I've used one of the Just Some Lines digi's for my card, this one is called 'Mushroom Picker' and you can buy it here.  As soon as I saw this digi I knew it would be perfect for my Sister in Law as she loves foraging for mushrooms.  Personally, I'm too much of a wuss as knowing my luck I'd probably pick poisonous ones!  I've coloured her with Promarkers to match the papers.  The papers are my first '3' I've used 3 different sheets from my MME Lost & Found 3 Ruby 12x12s (yet another TK Maxx bargain lol), I've also used 3 ribbons, 3 wooden mushrooms coloured with Promarkers, 3 flowers topped with 3 buttons and 3 brown pearls.  The sentiment is by LOTV and all the dies used are by X-cut.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

Good evening,

Today's card isn't very complex but it's taken me about three days to complete it as Iona and I have had a tummy bug and haven't been feeling like doing very much.  We've rallied round as the day's gone on today and the three of us managed to go to an open day at one of our local parks.  Iona had a ball - literally, she was in a ball, one of those zorbing balls you go in and roll around!

I've decided I need to get on with some Christmas Cards so expect to see a few more from me in the coming weeks lol!  For this one I've used a LOTV stamped image (with an added robin) and coloured it with Promarkers to match my rather ancient Papermania Noel papers.  The sentiment is also by LOTV.  I've used lots of Stardust Stickles on the stamped topper and sentiments.  My card is finished off with some spotty buttons, gingham ribbon, pearls, gems and a snowflake charm.

Thank you for stopping by and for your ongoing encouragement, it's always appreciated.

Shona xx

Gorjuss in (almost) Monochrome

Good afternoon,

Today's card is one I made for my friends 40th Birthday last week.  It is always really hard to know what to make for someone who crafts themselves.  I have been thinking for a while that I'd like to try something monochrome so I decided to go for it with this card although I decided to add a wee bit red on the hearts to make the image pop.

The stamped image has been coloured with Promarkers then fussy cut and mounted on some die-cut circle layers.  The sentiment is from a Grungy Relatives set from LOTV and the papers are by Paper Cellar which I picked up dirt cheap in the Hobbycraft sale.  Glitter number stickers, red pearls, card candi and a spotty ribbon bow finish off my card.

Enjoy the rest of your day,
Shona xx

Let It Snow Tag

Good Morning!

First of all (because I can't wait!) I can now share with you some fantastic crafty news - I have been accepted on to the design team at the Cutie Pies Challenge Blog!!!  This is the first DT I have plucked up the courage to apply for so I was amazed to be offered a place on the team.  I especially love making cute cards so I am over the moon to join such a wonderful team.  I am not taking part in the current challenge but they have a fantastic 'Cute with Shades of Autumn' theme which has just started over at The Cutie Pie Challenge Blog.

I'd also like to welcome the new followers to my blog, thank you for finding me, and thanks also to my existing followers for their ongoing support and lovely comments they leave, it's always appreciated.

Today for a change I have a tag to share.  I really enjoy making tags and every time I make one I wonder why I don't do it more often.  I think I just like being able to fill a small space like that with a few little details rather than having lots of space on a card and sometimes it can look a bit sparse.

I have used a freebie snowman digi that I picked up on the Dearie Dolls blog ages ago and forgot I had until I tidied up my files on the pc the other day! I think he looks very cheery!  I've coloured him in with Promarkers and given him a generous spritz of Crafters Companion Spray and Sparkle.  I've die cut and mounted him on a piece of turquoise snowflake patterned paper.  The red tag and lace are both from a Docrafts Christmas Goody Bag I got for my birthday last week.  The snowflake die was another freebie from last month's Creativity magazine.  The smaller snowflakes were made using a cheapy punch that belongs to my daughter, the buttons are also from her stash (I'll get shot if she sees this lol).  I've finished off the tag with a sentiment from LOTV, some paper cord and a couple of turquoise pearls.  That's it, the tags full, jobs a good 'un, as my ex boss used to say!

Bye for now...Shona xx

A Birthday Card for our Daughter

Good afternoon,

What a fantastically sunny day we are having here in Inverness!  We had an early start this morning as we decided to do a car boot sale to clear some space (which I can now fill with some crafting goodies) and went prepared for all weathers, I even took my sheepskin boots and gloves but most of the layers were discarded as the morning went on lol.

Today's card is one I made for our daughter Iona who was 9 earlier this month.  This is her favourite stamp and she asked if I would use it on her card.  I was actually quite please as it saved me agonising over what to make for her!

I've tried to make it a bit more funky by using quite bright papers and teaming them with black cardstock.

The Stamp is Peek a Boo from Sugar Nellie and I've coloured it using Promarkers.  The papers I've used are Oh La La by My Minds Eye.  The round sentiment is by LOTV and the daughter one is from a huge and really useful set from Docrafts.  A die cut flourish using a Tim Holtz Sizzix die, spotty ribbon and some black gems finish off my card.

I hope you are having a good weekend and the sun is shining wherever you are.

Fairy Cakes Birthday Card

Good evening,

Well it's been a busy and sociable weekend with my daughter's birthday party yesterday and my own birthday today as well as my friend's daughter's birthday party.  This is the card I made for her.

The stamp is Fairy Cakes by Sugar Nellie, (ok I admit to having had a sneaky visit to the Funky Kits shop in Elgin last week but I needed some retail therapy!) I've coloured her in with Promarkers and added some Stardust Stickles for a wee bit bling on the wings.  The papers are My Girl by My Minds Eye and were another TK Maxx bargain I picked up while I was in Elgin!  The sentiment is by LOTV and the butterfly and round embellishment stickers are also from the paper pack.  Some pearls, a foam number and a ribbon bow finish off the card.

I'm off now to settle down with a glass of red and wait for the Chinese takeaway to arrive!

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Forever Friends Going To The Chapel Wedding Card

Good Morning,

It's been a wee while since my last post, things came to a head at my work and due to stress I've had to take some time off.  I'm feeling the better for being away from the situation but I'm still quite up and down.  Thank goodness for crafting to help take my mind off things!  Today's card is one I made for my daughter's friend's Mum and Step-dad who got married recently.

The stamp is from the Forever Friends Going To The Chapel Clear Stamp set, which I picked up in the sale at a local craft shop.  I've coloured the image with Promarkers and sprayed it over with Crafters Companion Spray and Sparkle Iridescent.  I've also added some extra glitter glue to the Bride's veil and some little pearls to the headdress.  I've cut out the image and mounted it on die-cut circles from X-cut and Spellbinders.  The backing paper is by Best Creation and although you can't really see it in this photo it has some lovely texture and added glitter.  I've also used Bazzil Bling cardstock which has a nice shine to it. The sentiment is by LOTV and I've added some hearts made using an Embosslits set from Stampin' Up.  My card is finished off with some silver organza ribbon and some little pearls.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Cutie Pie Challenge - #77 Two's Company
Sister Act Challenge - #72 Anything Goes
