Good evening everyone,
Gosh I'm earlier still tonight, it's easy to see I have a bit more time on my hands this weekend! I hope everyone has had a lovely, relaxing Easter Sunday. The sun has been shining here again today and we took Iona to an Easter Fun Day at the Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Stadium. We all had a good time and there were some craft stalls and a funfair to keep us all amused.
Tonight's card is Iona's Easter one from Rab and I. Iona loves bunnies so I couldn't resist this Kanban topper.
I've kept it simple with two matching papers from Craftwork Cards Ice Cream Parlour collection, layered with gold textured cardstock. The sentiment is from the same Kanban collection and I've finished the card off with pearls, gingham ribbon and some buttons from the Dovecraft Cupcake Boutique collection.
I'm off to put my feet up or maybe do some colouring for some future projects.
Bye for now xx

An Easter Card for My Aunt
Good evening folks,
It's been a lovely sunny day here in the Highlands, you wouldn't believe we had snow lying on Thursday morning! We took the opportunity to go to Whin Park, here in Inverness which is a fab park with a Boating Pond and Miniature Railway. We didn't want to venture too far afield as my car seems to have a slow puncture which will need to get sorted once the garage is open again next week, the joys of motoring!
My card tonight is an Easter one for my Aunt who's still in hospital. It was quick to make as I used a ready made topper and followed a sketch for the floral challenge over at Docrafts.
The topper was part of a challenge prize so I'm not sure what brand it is. I've mounted it on various papers from the Papermania Boysenberry Capsule collection and magazine freebies. I've inked the edges of the papers with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Some buttons from the Cupcake Boutique collection from Dovecraft and a Hobbycraft Sentiment Stamp finish it off.
Hope you all have a lovely Easter Sunday with lots of choccy eggs!!!

March Tag Challenge
Hi folks,
I'm having crafting withdrawal as I just haven't had any time or energy to do any for over a week, so tonight I decided I had to make something! As there are only a few more days left in March I thought I'd better get on with my offering for the monthly tag challenge over at Docrafts.
It took much longer than anticipated, not because there's anything complicated in it but because A. I couldn't find the new kraft tags I'd bought specially and B. I couldn't find the buttons I wanted to use, duh! I really must try to find some time to tidy my craft stash while I have a couple of days off work. Did I mention I'm not back to work until Tuesday? Yipee!!!!
Ok, so my tag. The remit for this one was yellow and green with another colour. I started with a precut kraft tag from Papermania then added some Papermania Chelsea Green capsule collection paper which I distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Bundled Sage. I then added a Forever Friends stamped image coloured with promarkers and a stamped sentiment from Hobbycraft mounted on more capsule collection paper this time from the Lemon Sorbet collection. I finished off the card with buttons from the Boofle collection, tiny green pearls from Hobbycraft, various ribbons and papercord and some Papermania satin buds.
I certainly hope it's not as long until my next post!

Another Christmas One...
Hi folks,
I can't believe that's the weekend almost over! I've spent most of it doing housework (boo), cooking and hospital visiting. Iona and I did manage to squeeze in some baking time today - we made Moshi Monster Eye Pies they sound awful but they are really yummy, like cakepops but without a stick and with the addition of an 'eye'!
Tonight's card I actually made on Friday but haven't had a chance to post yet. It's my next installment for Snoflake's Challenge.
I've used a kraft card blank and covered it with 3 different freebie papers from the same collection, some of them matted with kraft card. I've used a topper from the Papermania Noel collection, also matted on kraft cardstock and the card has been very simply embellished using striped ribbon and paper holly, made using a punch and tiny red pearls, from Hobbycraft.
I'd much rather be off to do some crafting but unfortunately I have some ironing to do before I hit the hay. Hope everyone has a great start to the week.

A Christmas Card
Hi Folks,
I've been lying low this week and missing out on crafting as I've had an awful cold. I was off work sick Monday and Tuesday but I had a workshop to attend in Stirling on Wednesday so I had to pull myself together and go for it. I'm so glad I wasn't the one driving! I'm still coughing and spluttering a bit but I'm not nearly so bad now. The worst of it was I wasn't able to see my Auntie at the start of the week as I didn't want to pass on my germs, but the best part is that not having seen her for a few days I saw a massive improvement in her when I did go.
On to my card, as I said before I'm a few weeks behind with Snoflake's Christmas card challenge over at Docrafts so I thought I would combine my week 7 card with the A-Z Colour challenge I'd entered. The choice of colours for the final letter Z are Zucchini (green) Zaffre (Royal Blue) and/or Zinc (white). I've gone for Zinc and Zucchini!
I've used a kraft card blank and added some Kanban paper which was a magazine freebie. I've then used Memory Box Frostyville Border and Snowflake Corner Dies with white pearlised cardstock to frame a cardstock sticker from the Forever Friends Timeless Range which has also been mounted on pearlised cardstock die cut with an x-cut scalloped oval die. The sentiment is also from the Timeless cardstock sticker set. The only other thing I've added is a green gingham ribbon bow. This was a really quick and easy card to make but I just love this border die!
Week 8's card coming up soon! I'm definitely making more of an effort to catch up.
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend whatever you are up to, I just hope I get rid of this cough before Monday comes around again! Night night xx

A Mother's Day Card
Good Evening Crafty Friends,
Sadly I lost my mum when I was in my early teens and Mother's Day is a time when I like to look back on the good times we had together and appreciate the relationship I have with my own daughter. I've said here before that I look on my Aunt as a second mum and so I have created this card for her. This is one of the best perks of cardmaking - being able to make bespoke cards. Try finding any Aunt or Great Aunt cards for Mother's Day - it just isn't possible unless you go to somewhere like Moonpig!
I've mostly gone for elements from the Docrafts Art Deco range as this is a style my Aunt loves and I suppose it is fitting as she was born in the 1920's!
I've made a twisted easel card and used two different foiled papers from the Art Deco A4 paper pack. Some of the paper and the matching topper I've matted on textured gold card from my stash and I've also added some glossy black self striped card by Bazzil. The sentiment was created in MS Word using the Alisha font. I've added a couple of gems and feathers which are also from the Art Deco range and the card is finished off with gold card candi, some ribbon bows and some jade and gold coloured flowers.
I hope my Aunt likes the card and most of all I hope she gets home from hospital soon, and as she is now starting to get back on her feet and walk a little, hopefully that won't be too long!
Thank you so much for any comments you leave for me.
Night night & best wishes,
Shona xx

A Christmas Card
Hello, I was going to say Good Evening but then I checked the time - oops!
Tonight I am posting a Christmas card I made last night. This year I am joining in Snoflake's Challenge over at Docrafts. The idea is that you make at least one card a week up until Christmas so you have a nice little stash of cards and less of a panic nearer the big day. This is actually my 6th card although I haven't posted any on my blog up til now but you can see them all over on my Docrafts Gallery. I'm a little bit behind as I should be on week 10 by now but I'm sure I'll catch up!
The Popcorn the bear decoupage and the papers are all freebies from various magazines and the sentiment is from Kanban. All I've added is some kraft card for matting and layering, striped ribbon and a couple of heart-shaped buttons from Hobbycraft which I've threaded with some paper cord.
Well, I think it's about time I went to bed so it's goodnight from me!

Y is for...
Good Evening,
As well as finishing off a baby card for my pal this evening I've made a quick card for the A-Z colour challenge I'm hosting over at Docrafts. The Challenge has been going for about a year and is nearly over. We are now on the letter Y so as well as the obvious colour of Yellow, I've also gone for Yale Blue and Yankee Blue.
I've used various papers from the Lemon Sorbet Capsule Collection and matted them on blue linen effect paper to pick up the colour in the Kanban topper and sentiment. To finish I've added some ribbons and gems and a capsule collection spotty brad.
As usual the shiny foil detail on the topper has not photographed very well so it looks a bit blurry, oh well you get the idea!
Well it's been another busy day and I'm shattered so night night.
