I'm back with a scheduled post today to share my DT card for the Cutie Pie Challenge. Our theme this week is 'Simply Love' so we'd love you to share your Valentine's (or any other suitable lovey dovey occasions) cards with us - just remember to include a cute character too!
This month we are being sponsored by the fantastic Sasayaki Glitter who have provided us with some fab digis to work with.
The gorgeous digi I chose is called You Got My Heart and I have coloured it with Promarkers.
I kind of made up my mind I was going to use this new embossing folder (a recent magazine freebie) on my card but I rather foolishly didn't have a layout in my head. I started off by masking a heart shape that would remain un-embossed (is that even a thing?) but there wasn't enough contrast colourwise to look good so I decided to cut a gingham scalloped heart. I also thought the embossing would look better if it was fussy cut to create a scalloped effect. The rest just kind of evolved which is unusual for me - I usually have it all pre-planned in my head! Sometimes it's nice to just go with the flow...
Materials Used:
Digi - Sasayaki Glitter - You Got My Heart
Promarkers
Embossing folder and sentiment - magazine freebies
Paper - Docrafts Papermania Christmas In The Country 12x12
Ribbon, twine, buttons & pearls from stash
That's all from me for now, hope your week gets off to a great start whatever you're up to!
Hugs,
Shona xx
