A Day In The Snow With The Cutie Pies

Hello!

A scheduled post from me as I'll be at work when this goes live!  I have so much still to do before Christmas hope you guys are all more organised than me!!!  Yesterday we did our 'Santa' bit and delivered presents to family who live a few hours drive away and this evening we have Iona's Girls Brigade Carol Concert so it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas even though we still don't have our tree up!

Anyway back in the room with my DT card for our fab new Cutie Pie challenge.  Our theme this month is 'A Day In The Snow' so take out of that what you will but please don't forget to include a cute image if you want to take part in the draw!

We are sponsored by Paper Nest Dolls, Bugaboo and Bunny Zoes this challenge so there are lots of fab prizes on offer!

No Designer Papers at The Cutie Pie Challenge

Good morning,

A scheduled post from me today as I will be at work when the challenge goes 'live'.  It's been a good weekend, very mild but a bit blustery.  As usual we've been busy.  Iona has been rehearsing as she's taking part in the BBC Children in Need Children's Choir on Friday and we had another fundraising quiz at cheerleading last night.  Apart from that it's been the usual housework, cooking and being taxi!

Ok, back to the challenge.  We have a fab new challenge over at the Cutie Pies, our theme is 'No designer paper' and remember your project must include a cute image as well.  We are sponsored by the fantastic 2 Cute Ink and they have provided us with some gorgeous digis to use.

http://www.2cuteink.com/

I've used one of their fab images called 'Winter Cardinal' and I've gone with some embossing instead of my usual designer papers.

I've coloured the image with Promarkers then die cut it into a circle which I've then edged with Star Dust Stickles.  The embossing folder is an old one from Docrafts and the heart circle die is from Spellbinders.  A Docrafts Create Christmas sentiment and some tartan tibbon from Hobbycraft finish off my card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sharing an Oldie on Friday

Good morning,

It's been ages since I last shared an oldie on Friday but I'm on holiday this week so I thought why not!  Love this idea shared by Erika over at Snappy Crafts.  Today I'm sharing a Christmas card I made almost 2 years ago for our Secret Santa card swap with the Cutie Pie design team.  For obvious reasons I couldn't share it at the time as that would give the game away but I think enough time has passed to allow me to post it now!

The stamp and sentiment stamp set are both by LOTV, papers are Docrafts Home for Christmas (these are one of my all time favourite Christmas DPs), ribbon, buttons, twine, pearls, etc all from stash.  Love the image too, I must dig it out and have another play!

Not sure what all we will get up to today but we are definitely going to be baking.  Daughter Iona has a Zoela (lifestyle blogger with a huge following) cup cake recipe she wants to try out!

That's all from me just now, hope you manage to get over to Erika's blog and share the love too!

Hugs,
Shona xx

There's a Fantastic New Challenge in Town!

Hi folks,

I'm back tonight to share some exciting news.  If you saw my blog post on Monday you would have heard a little bit about it!

As you probably know I'm currently on the Design Team for the Cutie Pie Challenge, well our head Cutie Lisa has come up with a brilliant new challenge called Christmas With The Cuties!!!

The challenge was just launched on Monday and Lisa is on the look out for some crafters who love Christmas and working with cute images (and lets face it who doesn't!) to join the DT along with some of the existing Cuties.  There is also the opportunity to win some fab Christmas candy just by following the challenge and commenting on the post!  So what are you waiting for???  Click the link above or the icon on the sidebar and come and find us!

I'm very excited about this and can't wait for the first challenge to go live!

Magical Birthday

Good morning,

A scheduled post from me this morning because this is my last working day before I go on leave for just over a week.  It doesn't seem long since my fortnight off in August but I'm really looking forward to it!  I'm still catching up with a few things I've made recently but hadn't got around to blogging so today I'm sharing a card I made for our daughter's 11th birthday.  She loves unicorns so this fab digi image called Lucky Unicorn from 2 Cute Ink was the perfect choice!

I've coloured the image with Promarkers to match these fab MME My Girl papers.  I used MS Word for the sentiment and finished off my card with buttons and gems from my stash.

Iona was delighted with it even though it was a relatively quick and easy make!

Have a great day whatever you're up to!

Hugs, Shona xx

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

My First 100th Birthday Card!

Good morning,

Hope you are all well today.  I don't know about where you are but up here in the Highlands of Scotland it's getting rather nippy in the mornings.  I suppose that's the flip side of having had some really clear sunny days recently.

This morning I'm sharing a commissioned card a friend from work asked me to make for her Gran in Law's 100th Birthday!  What a milestone!  The birthday girl now lives in a care home but lived in her own home right up until earlier this year, that's some achievement.  My friend found some ideas for what she'd like on Pinterest and the only really firm request was for butterflies and some purple or lilac shades.  This is what I came up with...

Apart from the card blank enverything else uses Crafter's Companion Centura Pearl card.  The door plate and large butterfly dies are by X-cut, Trimcraft number dies, Stampin' Up Embosslits small butterflies and Sue Wilson Creative Expressions Pierced Flags dies.  I've also used butterfly and dots embossing folders for a bit more texture.  White pearls to trim the butterflies.

That's all from me for now, take care.

Hugs, Shona xx

Five of a Kind with the Cutie Pies

Good morning,

In the words of Blur - Monday, Monday here again!  It certainly comes round quick every week!  BUT to brighten up your Monday we have a fab new challenge starting over at The Cutie Pie Challenge.  Our theme this week to go along with your cute image is 'Five of a Kind' and we'd love you to join in.  If you visit our challenge page you'll also see some very interesting news.  I'm very excited about it and I'm sure you will be too!  Our sponsors for this challenge are All Dressed Up!

Ok, back to my card.  I've used one of our fab sponsor images and gone all Christmassy!  I think this is my first Christmas card of the year, I'm not very organised at the moment!

I've coloured the image with Promarkers to match with the rather lovely Dovecraft papers that were a present from one of my crafty friends.  The Christmas Tree die was a magazine freebie ages ago but this is it's first outing and it cuts beautifully!  The Precious Stars dies are from Memory Box.  My 'Five of the Same' are the olive green gems.  I've made a fancy fold card that was demonstrated at a recent Docrafts demo by the lovely Geraldine Carruthers.  It's a very simple yet effective fold using just one A4 sheet of card.

That's all from me just now.  Have a great week.

Hugs, Shona xx

I Love Promarkers Challenge - #319 Anything Goes

Happy 5th Birthday with the Cutie Pies

Hello,

Woohoo, I 've finally had a chance to pop on the pc and get caught up with my DT duties.  It's been a particularly busy week and I've hardly been at home.  All my daughter's clubs have now resumed after the holidays and now I am out 3 nights a week in my own right, one at Slimming World and the other 2 at keep fit and Zumba, all 3 are much needed! This week we've also had a leaving party and a fundraising quiz night added to the usual mix.  Sometimes I think I should just give up sleeping to claw back some time into my day but I love my bed too much for that!

Anyhow, back to my DT post.  We are so pleased to be celebrating our 5th Birthday at the Cutie Pies and we have some fantastic sponsors who have provided some amazing prizes for our special challenge.  As usual to be eligible for a prize your card must feature a cute (whimsical) image and follow our current theme 'Happy Birthday'.

To mark this special occasion, we have FIVE fantastic sponsors

have a wonderful prize for our DT chosen winner

http://disdigidownloads.blogspot.co.uk/
have a $10 online store voucher for a randomly chosen winner

The papers I've used are American Crafts Shimelle True Story and the sentiment is from a set by Personal Impressions.

That's all from me tonight as bed is calling.  Have a great week.

Work, Rest & Play with the Cutie Pies

Good morning!

Wow it seems like an age (and it probably is) since I last blogged anything!  I have given up 2 more of my DT posts as I wasn't able to dedicate enough time to them all.  I'm happy to still be on holiday from work, I go back a week tomorrow.  Last week my husband was on holiday too and we managed to get away for a few days on a short break to Aberdeen.  This week we will be pottering around with things at home and if the weather isn't too bad maybe get a few day trips arranged too.

Ok, back to my card.  Today I'm sharing my card I made for my remaining DT post with the Cutie Pies.  Our theme this week is Work, Rest & Play and we are sponsored by the fabulous Pink Gem!

I have used one of their fab digi's called Sitting Chloe - my Cutie is definitely resting!

I've coloured her with Promarkers to match the magazine freebie papers I've used that I've had in my stash for ages!  Personal Impressions sentiment.  X-cut and Diamond Press dies, Gems and ribbon from Hobbycraft to embellish.

We would love you to take part in our challenge - remember to follow our theme AND use a cute/whimsical image to be eligible for a prize/top 3 spot!

Bye for now,
Shona xx

Glitter and Glitz with I ♥ ProMarkers

Good morning,

A scheduled post from me today as I will be at work.  Today we have a fab new challenge starting over at ♥ ProMarkers and our theme is Glitter and Glitz.  This challenge marks our 7th Anniversary as the very first challenge was on the 16th July 2009!  I hope you will all take this opportunity to craft along with us and celebrate our 7th Birthday!!!

We are sponsored for this very special challenge by Fabrika Fantasy!  Also, on a personal level this is my last design team card for  I ♥ ProMarkers.  I will miss this a lot but I have got so much going on between work and my family that it's getting increasingly difficult to fit in crafting time.  I totally adore the challenge so they won't be getting rid of me that easily I hope to be able to drop by and take part now and then!

Ok on to my card, I've used an image from our sponsor called Fairytale Unicorn which has been coloured with Promarkers and sprayed with Crafter's Companion Spray & Sparkle.

Papers from an ancient Tulip decoupage pack, X-cut dies for stars and some gems to finish.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs, Shona xx

Polka Dots and Pastels with the Cutie Pies

Hello there,

I'm here to share my latest make for the Cutie Pies DT.  Our theme this month is Polka Dots and Pastels and as always it must be cute!  We have not one but two fab sponsors for this challenge - Sweet Stamps & Little Blue Button.

http://www.sweetstamps.com/

I used one of the fab images from Little Blue Button for my card - this one is called Sophie With Flower.

I've coloured her with Promarkers and used a couple of papers from Crafter's Companion Verity Rose which were a recent magazine freebie.  I've used an X-cut punch for the little flowers.  Personal Impressions sentiment, spotty organza ribbon and pearls to finish off.

Thanks for stopping by.

Use The Colour of Your Flag with Dream Valley Challenges

Good morning,

I'm a little more organised with a scheduled post today.  I am sad to say this is my last time contributing to the Dream Valley DT as I have decided to call it a day.  You've probably noticed I am crafting and blogging less and less these days as work and family commitments especially, are taking up a lot of my time just now.  It's a shame as I have really enjoyed my time with them but unfortunately I just can't find the time to commit to it just now.

So for my last challenge with them the theme is 'Use the colour of your Flag' this also ties in with American Independance Day today.  I've cheated a little and gone with the colours of the EU flag (while the United Kingdom are still in it!) as I had a New Baby Boy card I wanted to make.

The images and sentiment are all by LOTV and coloured with Promarkers.  The papers are from 2 different sets by Docrafts - Capsule Collection Spots & Stripes Festive and Forever Friends Spring Time.  I've edged the die cut squares with Faded Jeans Distress Ink for definition.  My card is finished with a large button and twine.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hugs,
Shona xx

Splish Splash Splosh With The Cuties

My apologies for the lateness of my post, my card was used on the later Cutie Pies mid month inspiration post and I completely forgot to schedule/post it!  The challenge is now closed but I thought you might like to see my card anyway.  Why not join us for another fantastic challenge starting Monday 11th July!

The image is from one of our Sponsors - Crafty Sentiments, and has been coloured with Promarkers to match the LOTV papers.  Sentiment printed out from MS Word and finished off with some spotty adhesive ribbon and buttons.

Hugs,
Shona

I ♥ ProMarkers DT Card - For A Child

Good morning,

Today we have a fab new challenge starting at I ♥ ProMarkers, our theme this fortnight is 'For a Child' and we are sponsored by Kenny K!

For my card I've used a fab sponsor image called Martial Arts Girl, which has been coloured with Promarkers.

The papers are American Crafts Dear Lizzy Fine & Dandy and the sentiments have been made on the PC in Word.  I've added some Dovecraft Washi tape, spotty ribbon and a couple of die cut stars to my card.

I've had a bit of a dry patch with my card making lately.  Mostly because I haven't been able to dedicate much time to it because I've been so busy with family stuff, but I'm quite pleased with how this one has turned out.

Thanks for stopping by.

Dream Valley DT Card - Vintage

Hi there,

This is an extremely late post from me but the good news is there's still plenty time to take part in our current challenge at Dream Valley Challenges where our theme is 'Vintage'.  We are sponsored by the fantastic Crafty Ribbons.

For this challenge I've made a little gift bag rather than a card and used decoupage rather than a stamped or digi image.

The floral decoupage and sentiment are by Docrafts.  Magazine freebie papers.  Sizzix Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die set and finished off with various ribbons, twine, pearls and a button.

Thank you for stopping by.

Hugs, Shona xx
