Cute, Clean & Simple with the Cutie Pies

Good morning,

Yay a scheduled and on time post from me!  I'm not one for New Year's resolutions but I think this is probably one I should make that as far as possible I get my DT posts out on time!

So today we start a fantastic new challenge at the Cutie Pie Challenge Blog and our theme this month is Cute, Clean & Simple and we'd love you to join in the fun and share your cute CAS creations with us.  We don't have a sponsor this time around so I've used a Gorjuss stamp of my own for my card.

Materials used:
Gorjuss stamp - Oops a Daisy
Promarkers
Patterned paper - Forever Friends Summer Time
Sentiment stamp - magazine freebie
Cardstock, buttons and twine from stash

I sometimes find CAS can be hard to get just right - you're always tempted to put more on your card, especially if you're used to using a lot of layers or embellishments.  I have had to reel myself in a bit and in this case I think less is definitely more, especially when using a patterned paper!

Thanks for dropping by and thank you for the lovely comments on my last couple of posts, it's much appreciated as I know how time consuming this is.

Hugs,
Shona xx

First Christmas Card of 2019

Good evening,

I've popped on to post my first Christmas card of 2019.  I'd like to say it's never too early to start them but between you and me I had it coloured and the bones of it made before Christmas and just didn't get around to finishing it.  Better late than never and it's now ready and in my stash for this year!

This is the first time I've used this cute wee Milton stamp which I picked up at the SEC show in 2017 so it was about time he got coloured and made into a card!  The papers are ancient Papermania ones I bought not long after I first started card making and I still love them.

Hope everyone is having a good start to the new year.  I'm still struggling to get to grips with the Beta Blockers I've been put on for my heart condition (mild Dilated Cardiomyopathy), they are totally zapping my energy, not every day but quite frequently, it seems to come in waves, so if anyone has any info/tips that might help me please feel free to share in the comments.

Materials used:
Milton & Co clear stamp - Wild Rose Studio, Christmas Milton
Promarkers
Papers - Papermania Honey & Hugs Festive Frolicks
Sentiment - LOTV
Border punch - Fiskars Threading Water
Cardstock, buttons and twine from stash

Thanks for stopping by today.

Add a Little Sparkle with the Cutie Pies

Good afternoon!

First of all Merry Christmas!  I hope you had as good a time as we had and we did it all again yesterday for my husband's birthday!

Secondly, apologies to the rest of the Cuties for posting this so late, December has gone in a blur and I feel like I haven't drawn breath, but, the good news is there is still plenty of time to take part in our current challenge.

The theme at the Cutie Pie Challenge this month is 'Add a Little Sparkle' as well as the essential cute image and I've used a fab image from our sponsor Little Miss Muffet and added a liberal amount of stickles to meet the theme!

Materials used:
Little Miss Muffet digi - Pudding Chester
Promarkers
Stickles glitter glue - Stardust
Papers - magazine freebies
Scrabble letters - Hobbycraft
Cardstock, ribbon, button and twine from stash

Today I'm sharing a Christmas card I made for the Cutie Pie's Winter Layers challenge.  We are sponsored by the fantastic Crafty Sentiments Designs and I have used their fab Benson and Betty digi for my DT offering.

As usual I have used Promarkers to colour my image and have created layers using kraft card and some lush new Christmas papers.

Going Girly With The Cutie Pies

Hello,

A late post from me to share my latest DT card for the Cutie Pie Challenge.  Our theme this month is 'Going Girly' and we would love you to join us.

I've had a bit of an eventful few weeks since my last post.  I've been diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) which I've inherited through a faulty gene.  I've now had diagnostic tests which show slight dilation of the heart but the good news is that I can get started on medication which will hopefully stop it getting any worse, there's no guarantees but the prognosis looks good.  I start my meds tomorrow.  This was picked up through genetic testing rather than me having any symptoms as a family member suffered heart failure about a year ago and had to have an implantable defibrillator.  Happily he is doing well now.  Sadly, we've found that I've also passed the faulty gene on to our daughter.  Thankfully, she has no signs of DCM but will need regular screening to ensure things don't develop in the future.

Anyway, enough about me and on to my card.  I've used another Gorjuss stamped image for my card this month.  I've kept away from my usual colour palette and mainly used purples and greens this time.

Materials Used:
Stamp Set - Gorjuss
Sentiment Stamp - Personal Impressions
Promarkers
Flower & Leaves Dies - Crafter's Companion
X-cut scalloped rectangles dies
First Edition Storyteller papers
Cardstock, gems and card candi from stash

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hugs,
Shona xx

Shades of Autumn With The Cutie Pies

Good morning,

A scheduled post from me today.  My daughter has a hospital appointment this morning and then it's off to work and school later.  Today I'm sharing my DT card for the Cutie Pie challenge.  Our theme this month is a very seasonal one... Shades of Autumn.  My daughter loves Autumn, possibly because her birthday month is September and definitely because the coffee shops start selling pumpkin spice lattes!  I like Autumn myself - all the fantastic colours and cosy darker evenings but not too cold for snow or frost just yet!  Having said that we've been enjoying lots of sun and warm temperatures this weekend and long may it last!

Anyway, enough waffling, on to my card... the DT were able to use an image of their choice so I went for a Gorjuss girl which I've coloured with Promarkers.  I've just given a nod to Autumnal shades rather than going full out with the oranges, rusts and browns.  The paper is one I've had for ages and really liked but never had occasion to use before now.

We are sponsored by Di's Digital Images and Crafty Ribbons for this challenge and they both have some fantastic prizes up for grabs, so what are you waiting for?  Come along and have fun!

Sporting Cuties with the Cutie Pies

Good morning,

A 'real time' post from me as I'm on annual leave.  We aren't going away anywhere at the moment so I'm looking forward to spending some time with our daughter before she goes back to school next week as well as catching up with housework (meh) and doing some much needed de-cluttering.  Not sure if I'll get as far as doing any craft supplies de-cluttering but we'll see how it goes.  The weather doesn't appear to be the best this week so I will make the most of doing indoor chores.

Anyhoo, today I'm sharing my DT card for the new Cutie Pie Challenge - our theme this month is Sporting Cuties 🏀🏁🏃🏄🏈🎾🎯 and we'd love you to come and share your projects with us!

For this challenge we are sponsored by Bugaboo

I have used one of their fab images for my card called Sunbonnet Fish 2 and a very old but very nice paper pack from We Are Memory Keepers with some faux stitching added.  As you can see I took a bit of a liberty with the sentiment stamp!

Materials used:
Bugaboo Digital Stamp - Sunbonnet Fish 2
Promarkers
Papers - We Are Memory Keepers Travel Light
Sentiment Stamp - Personal Impressions (tweaked by me)
Cardstock, buttons & twine from stash

That's all from me, I'd better get on with the chores!

Hugs,
Shona x
