This time I’ve used a digital stamp by Lili of the Valley and coloured it with Promarkers. The paper is from a Lisa Horton magazine kit and the sentiment was from a free set from Making Cards magazine. As the image was quite busy I’ve left the layout very simple.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiK2nsWlr9v3Kcx7myV1aojxdELqNYtWAY3W0r0PVC4RzaPG9ZDRTMHeLtAEPSIitESnZsW3ucm4xJAaFV0tNR6TrMEINDdeTItbDaaC4eOpiRa6VVGD5PjJBQCLN_p3NWpix7a66Qwxpr00MTuL2tzdLOA5ae9AlUxAOoRQZGLl-tid4XOjRF9X0f5JA=s2407" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2383" data-original-width="2407" height="317" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiK2nsWlr9v3Kcx7myV1aojxdELqNYtWAY3W0r0PVC4RzaPG9ZDRTMHeLtAEPSIitESnZsW3ucm4xJAaFV0tNR6TrMEINDdeTItbDaaC4eOpiRa6VVGD5PjJBQCLN_p3NWpix7a66Qwxpr00MTuL2tzdLOA5ae9AlUxAOoRQZGLl-tid4XOjRF9X0f5JA=s320" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p>Hope you like it.</p><p>Hugs, Shona xx</p><p><br /></p>Shona Hamillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04313142053648893722noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2039549377114992824.post-63721000592676393922022-03-20T11:59:00.003+00:002022-03-20T12:16:36.119+00:00Cleverprints Inspiration Week - Follow Your Dreams<p>Hello</p><p>Welcome to my blog, you will see that I only blog here sporadically you will find many more of my creations on Instagram @handmade_by_hamill I would love to be able to keep my blog more up to date but the reality is there’s just not enough hours in the day when you have a full time job, a family and are also a carer. I've used Neenah card from Crafter's Companion but you can use your usual stamping card. Colour the images with whatever medium you like, I've used a black alcohol marker but you could use a fineliner pen, Posca pen, pencil or whatever you have to hand. Next, fussy cut around the coloured images. You can cut out right up to the line or leave a small white border, again, whatever you find works for you.</div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEi879nwsmCHTra97FnKRxiKNcr55cMBn1P6I5CQKbJyo-AN1JGTXzrW3_18KLjqKRXMnZuifLsbd96D3k_R24-FDbk2RfimN71QE66MeWMMO38CGYlKKGIiPte5BJBDDM9E9hXcTtC6DRik5Mxz3EhkGS400Kg3xu7uNgfOzbKyOM2NUKwRwY7990a3mA=s4030" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3023" data-original-width="4030" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEi879nwsmCHTra97FnKRxiKNcr55cMBn1P6I5CQKbJyo-AN1JGTXzrW3_18KLjqKRXMnZuifLsbd96D3k_R24-FDbk2RfimN71QE66MeWMMO38CGYlKKGIiPte5BJBDDM9E9hXcTtC6DRik5Mxz3EhkGS400Kg3xu7uNgfOzbKyOM2NUKwRwY7990a3mA=s320" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><b><u>Step 2</u></b></div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;">Cut a square of cardstock a little smaller than a 6x6 card blank I used Dolly Dimples Mixed Media cardstock as I find it works well for ink blending but again you can use whatever you have. Using a blending brush (make up ones are fine) start adding distress oxide in the lightest colour in a circular motion from the middle out, gradually adding in the mid tone colour then finally the darkest around the edges, the best way to do this is to start light and gradually build the colour up to avoid any harsh lines. Next lightly spritz the inked square with a water spray. The oxides are water reactive so it will lift the colour slightly and create a bit of texture instead of being a flat colour. Now leave this aside to dry. This is important as the next thing we are going to do is to go back in and stencil over with more distress oxide so we don't want that to smudge or the colour to lift again.</div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgj_Ry35S-el16h2ztcm_w7zYVLaVfC41S4vrdDSXZJRa2jYyxrgels41eDTIZwwquf8i_7vT6WY2BgpHi9RK1WGm8O8meYCq1QYgmAQgTatTXfZv7WDa9e5oiRleY4p58aRzekRQMtZWm_LUl3EWK7zCjWdDwYiLOOkHO-hlrKPZGAUwhW70DuMfl9rw=s3373" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3373" data-original-width="3023" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgj_Ry35S-el16h2ztcm_w7zYVLaVfC41S4vrdDSXZJRa2jYyxrgels41eDTIZwwquf8i_7vT6WY2BgpHi9RK1WGm8O8meYCq1QYgmAQgTatTXfZv7WDa9e5oiRleY4p58aRzekRQMtZWm_LUl3EWK7zCjWdDwYiLOOkHO-hlrKPZGAUwhW70DuMfl9rw=s320" width="287" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgPcYzQU9O7gwttZ7bC2fQ3-qZIEuKtVppiMbjYJ2FAYJzmQ2snFEQ8bCHgJTj5kpzIEWgBGlnBc2j7IOQ0uPme6NUk6hYM_NRFMpbylGDXshWgTHNROQ2-pny_9n4YfmSr7Bev6RincJfm_6p0Q-HP03osx6jcFNTvIf_yJp5ryNqas8ar4cnXOPN_LQ=s2942" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2942" data-original-width="2860" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgPcYzQU9O7gwttZ7bC2fQ3-qZIEuKtVppiMbjYJ2FAYJzmQ2snFEQ8bCHgJTj5kpzIEWgBGlnBc2j7IOQ0uPme6NUk6hYM_NRFMpbylGDXshWgTHNROQ2-pny_9n4YfmSr7Bev6RincJfm_6p0Q-HP03osx6jcFNTvIf_yJp5ryNqas8ar4cnXOPN_LQ=s320" width="311" /></a></div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><b><u>Step 3</u></b></div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;">Stamp out a sentiment on white cardstock and if it's a larger sentiment cut it into individual lines/words then edge each piece with black pen/ink to make it stand out. I used a sentiment from the Where Wildflowers Grow set. Once the background is dry add some stencilling using the mid tone of Distress Oxide, I used the Flower Fall stencil for this and just stencilled in 2 of the corners.</div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgwyGakyj1zo8kJfIVtXXyEH9ChNJ1WJeMqBNzlXjYGF_mJGA_B5T5S-FUWfYPA1rL5NnKjVHhIrYmrhp3D1GbpooJlzNZJ-BRe2QSmDe4pexDkUDezX3kzceVC6Yl_6ktz3WBekJ3B5wQQIW0hLXE278ySKfCKJSSE-ORQNQeEbVuWI1eCClZTqa-uOg=s3603" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3603" data-original-width="2880" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgwyGakyj1zo8kJfIVtXXyEH9ChNJ1WJeMqBNzlXjYGF_mJGA_B5T5S-FUWfYPA1rL5NnKjVHhIrYmrhp3D1GbpooJlzNZJ-BRe2QSmDe4pexDkUDezX3kzceVC6Yl_6ktz3WBekJ3B5wQQIW0hLXE278ySKfCKJSSE-ORQNQeEbVuWI1eCClZTqa-uOg=s320" width="256" /></a></div><br /><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><b><u>Step 4</u></b></div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;">Arrange the stamped and fussy cut elements and sentiment on to the background. I like to do this first before I stick anything down. Once you're happy with the layout glue everything down. I use Collall multi purpose glue but I know everyone has their own favourite so just use whatever you would usually use. Now here's my top tip! I like to position my stamped pieces with a little of the images overhanging the edge. This makes the layout look a little bit more natural. One the glue has dried snip off the overhanging pieces but keep them. I then stick these on around the edge, again it just makes the layout look more cohesive.</div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiZrb3J3v5xepEnFOrltGiGEH8WG2KA_CggcVNuKxCaC6_s-wF1yTUT-HTnsx9XHzZNwQmUdZ3WcTQJhmC2eH69RlT7WvYX4xiCr5kWmBNq8DJGknu-d8WWlhqSNROEiQhgGLflSZo-OB7_kdgH1rUBX7cMB7b_07dhPzN1QbMv3wMNBTnWV-l51oKrlw=s3506" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3506" data-original-width="3022" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiZrb3J3v5xepEnFOrltGiGEH8WG2KA_CggcVNuKxCaC6_s-wF1yTUT-HTnsx9XHzZNwQmUdZ3WcTQJhmC2eH69RlT7WvYX4xiCr5kWmBNq8DJGknu-d8WWlhqSNROEiQhgGLflSZo-OB7_kdgH1rUBX7cMB7b_07dhPzN1QbMv3wMNBTnWV-l51oKrlw=s320" width="276" /></a></div><br /><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><b><u>Step 5</u></b></div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;">At this stage you have 2 options. Firstly, you can stop now and mount the piece on black cardstock and then on to the card blank, job done. However, I like to finish my card with a black edge and some doodling. I used a black alcohol marker to go around the edge to make it stand out against the white card blank. This saves the bother of having to matt and layer and also keeps the card flat and light which is particularly helpful if you're going to be mailing it. I then add a doodled border around the edge of the card using a fineliner pen which helps to frame the image and draw the eye in. If you're not too confident with drawing a border there are some great stamps in the collection you could use such as the one in the Happy Soul set.</div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;"><br /></div><div dir="auto" style="animation-name: none; font-family: inherit; transition-property: none;">Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog, I hope you've found some inspiration. Our festivities didn’t go to plan as my daughter had COVID, thankfully it was very mild and the rest of the household managed to avoid it. Anyway, it’s a new year and a fresh start. </p><p>We’re kicking off our first challenge of the year at <a href="http://thehollyandivychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/?m=1">The Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge</a> and as always the theme is anything Christmas goes. I’m in declutter mode so I’ve made a card to use up some of the many scraps of pattered paper I have hanging around! I used a nesting square die to make life easier than measuring and cutting! I finished off my card with a Woodware sentiment on a die cut label and some punched snowflakes topped with pearls.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjuLRGhKcv67m1QJPDUwe9okU4P7XOyXyCsJ2NvH2Bpfe7MQRuH6wFil3AV8cSncKHTuutNPUGpJAQ4pjz2vCKhbhvhvPEbP-jAeRoZTSlfGPFgs9J90kd3alzCo-zy4jyykocbaNw75HM1YqVsD_HPFg9GjCd5sWplXDDKtt_452YSxR2CoN0dlOdYOA=s2951" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2951" data-original-width="2675" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjuLRGhKcv67m1QJPDUwe9okU4P7XOyXyCsJ2NvH2Bpfe7MQRuH6wFil3AV8cSncKHTuutNPUGpJAQ4pjz2vCKhbhvhvPEbP-jAeRoZTSlfGPFgs9J90kd3alzCo-zy4jyykocbaNw75HM1YqVsD_HPFg9GjCd5sWplXDDKtt_452YSxR2CoN0dlOdYOA=w167-h200" width="167" /></a></div><p></p><p><br /></p><p>Please excuse the photo quality, the light is just awful at the moment. </p><p>Hope you can join in with the challenge, just think how organised you will be!</p><p>Hugs,</p><p>Shona xx</p>Shona Hamillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04313142053648893722noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2039549377114992824.post-51155735919395688752021-11-23T09:00:00.007+00:002021-11-23T09:00:00.193+00:00Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge #106<p>Hi again!</p><p>Today I’m sharing my DT make for the Holly & Ivy Christmas challenge. Life got in the way and pretty much continues to get in the way and I probably couldn’t have chosen a busier time to start blogging again but here I am and here goes nothing!</p><p>Tonight I’m sharing a birthday card I made for a lovely lady Charmain Barrett who does a lot for the crafting community. Her own brand is Dolly Dimples but she works tirelessly behind the scenes for other brands as well and is also one of the regular contributors in the Crafting Together With All Brands Facebook group.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiMWZegb3_lj3JWq2yrJMdmIWwLaj7Esl9VOeymEHJNpxWQ5kyESGSXJOoObqOoi3SI2fghyphenhyphenD2G4KDFpIlQqJvcp48j2Zu4f3iCb3L_ET8rA9fYu4iX0-a2wEpz-25Hhbx4IQq5XLSHaIW/s1199/AA176BFB-DF76-4812-BE98-1385C6D9F030.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1199" data-original-width="1199" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiMWZegb3_lj3JWq2yrJMdmIWwLaj7Esl9VOeymEHJNpxWQ5kyESGSXJOoObqOoi3SI2fghyphenhyphenD2G4KDFpIlQqJvcp48j2Zu4f3iCb3L_ET8rA9fYu4iX0-a2wEpz-25Hhbx4IQq5XLSHaIW/s320/AA176BFB-DF76-4812-BE98-1385C6D9F030.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><p><br /></p><p>My card uses a wealth of different floral stamps from Cleverprints Ltd. That’s been another development since I last blogged - I’ve been lucky enough to have joined their design team. You can find their online shop <a href="https://www.cleverprints.co.uk/stamps" target="_blank">here</a>, they have a fabulous selection of stamps, dies, papers and accessories. I’ve used Ecoline brush pens to colour and I’ve doodled round the edge with a Sakura Micron fine liner to finish off my card.</p><p>Apologies for the photo quality, I’m struggling to get good light right now and a mostly white card doesn’t help! </p><p>Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you leave, it’s always appreciated!</p><p>Hugs, Shona xx</p><p>I’d like to enter my card into the following challenges:</p><p><br /></p>Shona Hamillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04313142053648893722noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2039549377114992824.post-71916234748288816892021-01-31T01:29:00.000+00:002021-01-31T01:29:10.640+00:00Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge <p>Hello,</p><p>If you could see me on this blog you would see me looking a little bit sheepish, well actually a big bit sheepish! I feel like I'm in some sort of a confession but forgive me bloggers it's been over 3 months since I last blogged anything! I'm currently taking a break from 2 of the design teams I'm on and wondering where I go from here. As always life is hectic even in lockdown there's no rest for the wicked as I'm still working full time hours albeit at home and as it's my daughter's exam year (although they're not sitting actual exams due to covid) I'm doing everything I can to help with her home schooling as it's possible that every piece of work she hands in will count towards her grades in the absence of formal exams. I have also been feeling a bit bogged down with my crafting recently and am trying to find time to explore different brands and techniques, especially moving into art journalling more. At the moment I am still on the DT for JMC Designs which is a real labour of love and one blog challenge DT for the Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge, I love my other 2 DTs too but at the moment I'm struggling to keep up with all my commitments and continue to grow as a crafter. I know I've said this before but I find it much easier to keep up with Instagram and Facebook than blogging. It's more instant and easily accessible. I can't promise when I'll next post on here but I'm going to try to at least get my Holly & Ivy DT work on here, it's only fair to the challenge organiser that I try to keep up with that side of things, so hopefully that will be roughly every fortnight, anything else is a bonus. That in mind here was my last card for the <a href="http://thehollyandivychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/2021/01/challenge-86-anything-christmas-goes.html#comment-form">Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge</a> using a fab pre-coloured image from Polkadoodles.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhUh3__RrtcAIRd_MFkt0FWbC1pbYbR4BvWmjmRnKyohMUQISg_P9BMNwZWkIwR-YQ5RR1vT30-wrcLPQtmLUQKGVsv7qzAWodEPUo7nq8MwXEJM6BdFBisBs8sU1r3do2sI-35U6FaxZk/s320/2145345A-D489-4033-A9C5-743CD9D4425C.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="289" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhUh3__RrtcAIRd_MFkt0FWbC1pbYbR4BvWmjmRnKyohMUQISg_P9BMNwZWkIwR-YQ5RR1vT30-wrcLPQtmLUQKGVsv7qzAWodEPUo7nq8MwXEJM6BdFBisBs8sU1r3do2sI-35U6FaxZk/s0/2145345A-D489-4033-A9C5-743CD9D4425C.png" /></a></div><br /><p>That's all from me tonight, hope everyone is well.</p><p>Stay safe.</p><p>Hugs,</p><p>Shona xx</p>Shona Hamillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04313142053648893722noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2039549377114992824.post-8839112359435287112020-10-13T11:42:00.004+01:002020-10-16T11:35:08.701+01:00Penguin Tag with the Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge<p>Good morning,</p><p>Hope it's a nice day wherever you are. Here in the North of Scotland we are having what we call locally a 'dreich' day. It just means it's grey, damp and showery - not necessarily heavy rain just the kind of day when you'd rather cosy up indoors than venture out. Luckily I'm on holiday just now so I don't really have to go anywhere unless I want to!</p><p>Today I'm sharing a tag I made for the <a href="http://thehollyandivychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/">Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge</a> which starts today. As always our theme is anything Christmas goes - why not join us and get organised as Christmas is starting to feel quite close now!</p><p>For my tag I used a Crafters Companion penguin die set that I bought in the sales a while back and have never got around to using. I'm still crafting just not always getting a chance to blog. I'm posting a lot more on Instagram especially these days, I would love to see you there if you have an account. Having said that I do enjoy blogging and entering challenges so I must make more of a effort and take the time to do it.</p><p>I'm happy to say I'm on holiday this week, I've had a busy spell at work in recent weeks so I'm looking forward to some down time. Obviously with the current covid situation we've no plans to go anywhere and the weather looks pretty brutal anyway but there's plenty little jobs to be getting on with at home.</p><p>So on to my card and it was my turn to host the <a href="http://cutiepiechallenge.blogspot.com/">Cutie Pie Challenge</a>. The theme I've gone for since we're getting close to Halloween is Too Cute To Spook! We are sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads who have a fantastic prize for the lucky winner. I've used one of their super cute designs for my DT card. </p><p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjo8fzFjHrjmmYEy7_f9k_PWKs18nV6Rhw309W3u_3ZN32fmlhO1F1AK3Gx1v0x_64kyMlq0mWD4p-25svHKMou7JFCVwUesjq7M9ZyemQQ_wFc8ZqsLZKIRwWecNnImy-noWUa9k7g5wXz/s2048/Challenge+152.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjo8fzFjHrjmmYEy7_f9k_PWKs18nV6Rhw309W3u_3ZN32fmlhO1F1AK3Gx1v0x_64kyMlq0mWD4p-25svHKMou7JFCVwUesjq7M9ZyemQQ_wFc8ZqsLZKIRwWecNnImy-noWUa9k7g5wXz/w400-h300/Challenge+152.png" width="400" /></a></div><p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><u><b>Materials used:</b></u></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Digital Stamp - Batty Bear, Di's Digi Downloads</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Promarkers </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Patterned paper - Happy Haunting, Graphic 45</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Label letter stickers - Tim Holtz</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">That's all from me at the moment, I hope I'll pop back a bit later to share some other things I've been working on.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">In the meantime, thanks for visiting, crafty hugs,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Shona xx</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://craftyhazelnutspatternedpaper.blogspot.com/2020/10/craftyhazelnuts-pattermed-paper-october.html">CHN Patterned Paper Challenge - October AG</a><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://notjustcardschallenges.blogspot.com/2020/10/october-challenge-please-leave-in-draft.html">Not Just Cards - October AG</a><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://unicornchallenge.blogspot.com/2020/10/challenge-59-spooky-andor-cute.html">Unicorn Challenge - #59 Spooky and/or Cute</a><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://disdigidesignschallenge.blogspot.com/2020/10/add-pumpkin-challenge.html">Di's Digi Designs Challenge - Add a Pumpkin</a><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://dragonflydreamschallenges.blogspot.com/2020/10/spooky-andor-cute.html">Dragonfly Dreams Challenges - Spooky and/or Cute</a><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>Shona Hamillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04313142053648893722noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2039549377114992824.post-85683870914499379562020-09-19T00:39:00.003+01:002020-09-19T00:39:35.247+01:00Happy Birthday with the Cutie Pies<p> Hello!</p><p>Well I eventually made it back to blogland. I'm not going to bore you with all my trials and tribulations I will just say that once again LIFE has got in the way as it so often does! I am trying to make the most of every day though and have started being more sociable, meeting more friends and generally being happier with my lot and more positive, helped in part by starting to practice guided meditation. So many people have recommended it to me so I eventually gave it a go and although my mind still wanders terribly, every day it seems to get a bit easier.</p><p>Today I'm sharing (a few days later than planned) my DT card for the latest <a href="http://cutiepiechallenge.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Cutie Pie Challenge</a>. As we are celebrating out 9th Blog Anniversary our theme is Birthday Party. I've used an image from one of our fab sponsors - Crafty Sentiments and made a birthday card to celebrate my pal's 50th birthday.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidAhiAtqkOLCmmDMLoV0NFGUcrmooQnazw8_fMDqWQlHEJayk2PGFwNY8kopkBbvh7DwpWHvkQngw4JnYvOGn0b-2Emiii3mnDgYAjS0kaWHB6z3uPAGh3-1_FAouZ06tLihRvPZVSlKHb/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="304" data-original-width="320" height="379" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidAhiAtqkOLCmmDMLoV0NFGUcrmooQnazw8_fMDqWQlHEJayk2PGFwNY8kopkBbvh7DwpWHvkQngw4JnYvOGn0b-2Emiii3mnDgYAjS0kaWHB6z3uPAGh3-1_FAouZ06tLihRvPZVSlKHb/w400-h379/image.png" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><u>Materials used:</u></b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Digital stamp - Crafty Sentiments, Stanley Happy Days 2</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Promarkers</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Patterned papers - First Edition, Paradise Crush</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Sentiment stamps - Crafter's Companion, Bebunni</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Scalloped rectangle nesting dies - X-cut</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Stitched scalloped rectangle die - Stampin' Up</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Cardstock, button & twine from stash</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">That's all from me tonight.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Take care,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Shona xx</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><br /><p></p>Shona Hamillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04313142053648893722noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2039549377114992824.post-76820265174367066112020-08-16T15:29:00.004+01:002020-08-16T15:34:59.641+01:00Molly Blooms Christmas Gift Bag Hello again,<br />

I've just popped back on to share a little Christmas gift bag I made for the Holly & Ivy Challenge but didn't quite get around to blogging! This is a cute little Molly Blooms stamp that a friend lent to me. The paper is a very ancient Kanban single sheet that has been in my stash forever!<br />

<br />
Happy Sunday! I've just realised I didn't post my card for the last Holly & Ivy Christmas challenge - it was on the challenge blog, just not on my own! I've been struggling to keep up with blogging recently, I'm not going to make any promises I might not be able to keep but I'm going to try to put a bit more time to keeping on top of things.<br />
<br />
For my card I've used the Trimcraft Night Before Christmas papers again, this time using my swatch die to create a patchwork effect and used up some scraps - I'm all about the scraps just now in case you hadn't noticed lol! I've used my Sizzix Bigz Noel die as a topper and added a die cut snowflake and button.<br />

<br />
A quick post from me this morning to share my DT card for the Cutie Pie Challenge. I'm doing this on my phone and using the new version of blogger so what could possibly go wrong lol.<br />
<br />
Our theme this month is 'Hip to be Square' so we want to see cute square cards. Our sponsor Lee Holland Design definitely has some cute images, the one I've used is a pre-coloured image and I've used scraps from a well loved paper pack to create a background.<br />
<br />

<br />
Well it's been a month since I last posted on my blog. It's been an eventful month though. As is always the case at this time of year I've been mega busy at work. I've worked quite a few evenings and have also been physically back in the office a few times due to having network issues when working remotely. As well as that I've recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, the doctor thinks that's what's causing my tiredness as I also have pain and stiffness, so I'm on a new tablet for that, I can't say I've noticed much of a difference yet with the pain but I think I do feel a bit less tired. I'm not falling asleep mid afternoon now anyway so that's a start! sadly as often happens life has got in the way of crafting. I've been trying to still craft when I can but blogging and keeping up to date with social media has had to slide a bit.<br />
<br />
Anyway, back to my card. Our theme for this month's <a href="http://christmaswiththecuties.blogspot.com/">Christmas With The Cuties</a> challenge is Christmas Animals. I've managed to cover several breeds of animal with my digi stamp from Di's Digital Stamps who are our sponsors. I'd love to take the credit for the gorgeous colouring but it's actually a pre-coloured image, these are great if you have limited time.<br />

<br />
A quick lunch break post from me today, I wasn't organised with a scheduled post this week as I've not been feeling the best as discussed in the post previous to this. Feeling fine again today though so hopefully it was just a wee blip.<br />
<br />
Anyway, we have a fab new challenge for you at <a href="http://christmaswiththecuties.blogspot.com/">Christmas With The Cuties</a> - our theme this month is 2 or more patterned papers and as always it must feature at least one cute character. This month we are sponsored by Crafty Sentiments and I've used a fab digi of there's called Herbie Bear, I think he's just perfect for Christmas themed cards. Yet again I've been 'shopping my stash' and trying to use up some of my older goodies. Hmm, maybe I need to find space for some new stuff I've ordered...oops!<br />

<br />
A late post to share my DT card for the <a href="http://thehollyandivychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/">Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge</a> apologies for being a bit late in sharing I've not been feeling the best this week, nothing serious I've just been extremely tired with painful joints so by the time I've finished work for the day I've not felt much like blogging or anything much really apart from surfing Netflix. I'm not sure if it was my heart meds again this time but I've felt a bit better today so hopefully I've got over this flare up or whatever it was. <br />
<br />
Anyway back to my card. I'm still 'shopping my stash' and using up almost forgotten stuff that I find as I'm tidying my craft room/office. It's almost like buying new stash when you rediscover things. I just love this Boofle collection, it's soooo cute! As always our theme is anything Christmas goes so it's a great way to use up stash and get ahead and organised for December 25th!<br />

<br />
And it's a scheduled post from me today. I've got the day off today because it's a very special day! Not only do we have a new challenge starting with the <a href="http://cutiepiechallenge.blogspot.com/">Cutie Pies</a> but it's my Auntie Winnie's 94th birthday! As she lives with us we can celebrate with her in person and I'm going to surprise her with an afternoon tea with lots of homebakes. Since she can't go out the afternoon tea will come to her! If the weather is nice we will have it in the garden if not indoors. As my daughter's vegan I've experimented with a BBC Good Food Vegan Victoria Sponge recipe - it seems to have worked ok, it hasn't risen as much as it usually would but some jam and butter cream (vegan butter) will soon sort out it's appearance! The plan is to have got up early to do some more baking so I do hope I've got out of my bed at a decent time lol!<br />
<br />
Anyhoo back to the reason for my post, I'm sharing my card for this month's theme - Layer it up! We are sponsored by the fantastic Bugaboo Digital Stamps who must have one of the biggest selections of digis out there - they really do have designs to suit every occasion. I've chosen a cute bee design for my card and I've teamed it with some bold and funky patterned papers from JMC Designs - one of the other Design Teams I'm on, I think they work really well with the image!<br />

<br />
I'm back to share a tag I made last week but didn't get around to blogging. The digi stamps are all from the latest Ocean Fashionistas digital collection by JMC designs. This collection along with all of Julia's other fab designs can be found in her Etsy shop <a href="https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/JMCDesignsArt">here</a>.<br />
<br />
The stamps I've used for my card are from the accessories and sentiments sets. I found a 12 x 12 sheet of scrapbooking paper in my stash that went perfectly and some pom pom trim that I bought ages ago because I loved the colour but never found anything that went with it until now!<br />

<br />
And a happy Saturday to you. Hope everyone is well and enjoying the weekend. We are have some really nasty showery rain at the moment but hey we had summer last week so I can't complain!<br />
<br />
Today I'm sharing my card I made for the latest <a href="http://thehollyandivychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/">Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge</a>. As always our fortnightly challenge is anything Christmas goes.<br />
<br />
This time I've used some Nitwits papers, toppers and stickers that have been in my stash for ever. I'm slowly trying to use up old stash to help de-clutter and create space to work. This range is called Merry & Bright and it certainly is very cheerful and colourful. I actually love non traditional colours for Christmas cards. I've inked the edges of all the elements using a black Promarker to make all the colours pop. This was a very quick and easy card to make, to be honest it was absolutely scorching outside when I made it and I grudged being indoors any longer than I had to - especially making such a wintry card!<br />

<br />
Another scheduled post on a Monday morning as I'm working, sadly this isn't one of my public holidays at work. Scotland are different to England. Never mind I'm planning on taking the following Monday off as our schools have this day off, I'm not sure why, especially when they're all closed anyway!<br />
<br />
Anyway, back to my card. Today we have a new challenge starting at <a href="http://christmaswiththecuties.blogspot.com/">Christmas with the Cuties</a>, our theme this month is everyone's favourite Anything Goes with the option of 'Ribbons and bows' and we are sponsored by Crafty Ribbons. The design team got to choose their own images for this challenge so I went for a cute pre-coloured topped from Sylvia Zet. I love the colour theme of these toppers - the teal and red and they go so well with the paper I've chosen which I think is from an old Docrafts Me To You range. I've distressed most of the edges to give a bit of a shabby chic look. The ribbon was rescued off an Avon gift set my daughter got for Christmas and again, the colours tie in with the topper.<br />

Today I have a scheduled post and I'm sharing my latest DT card for the <a href="http://thehollyandivychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/">Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge</a>. As always our theme is anything Christmas goes. Like last fortnight's card I've used some of the fab freebies from Making Cards Magazine - these really are fab freebies, they're so versatile. You might have seen in my recent posts that I'm on a mission to declutter and make a decent crafting space for myself and using up stash like this helps as I have accumulated so much 'stuff' and although it's all very pretty and useful, there's just too much of it and I need to downsize. Well a little bit anyway, nothing too drastic mind!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've layered up the papers with white cardstock as the paper is a little thin then distressed the edges. I've finished off my card with a die-cut snowflake topped with a signature button, a sentiment and some pearls.</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Today I'm sharing my DT card for the <a href="http://cutiepiechallenge.blogspot.com/">Cutie Pie Challenge</a> where our new theme is 'Pretty in Pink'. This month I've joined the mid month inspiration post but there's still plenty time to enter! We're sponsored by the fantastic <a href="https://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/">Polkadoodles</a> who have a fab prize for our winner. I've used one of their amazing pre-coloured images for my card.</div>
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I've used 3 different patterned papers and distressed the edges to give a shabby chic look. I've finished off my card with some vellum flags and punched flowers and some striped ribbon. This card is a bit of a stash buster most of the supplies came from a goody bag from a <a href="https://jmcdesigns.co.uk/?fbclid=IwAR2f5SE5eWu8bwrCHbPwZ8kiRB2loskJtg9_5leRSecsBBiWX0p2gHT2mxo">JMC Designs</a> mixed media workshop! </div>

In other news my husband and I have decided to rearrange our office into a joint office/craft room/DJ studio! We currently use it as an office and somewhere to store my craft supplies and his vinyl albeit very haphazardly with lots of other junk thrown in for good measure. We've made a start by moving the printer off the desk and giving the whole desk area a good tidy and at last I have enough surface to be able to craft in there! There's still a way to go but we're getting there.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Anyway, that's all from me, I'm on my lunch break - back to work now!</div>

<br />
Today I'm sharing a card I made to celebrate the gorgeous freebie digi stamp that <a href="https://jmcdesigns.co.uk/?fbclid=IwAR2f5SE5eWu8bwrCHbPwZ8kiRB2loskJtg9_5leRSecsBBiWX0p2gHT2mxo">JMC Designs</a> are generously offering for a limited time in conjunction with the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/kitandclowder/?multi_permalinks=2756143774513874&notif_id=1589097426874477&notif_t=group_highlights">Kit & Clowder</a> Facebook group. She's called Willow and I think you'll agree she's a cracker - why do I never look like this when I'm gardening. I usually sport the dragged through a hedge backwards look!<br />
<br />
Anyway on to my card and I thought I'd give a circular card a try, I've not actually made one before, well I've made a circular easel card several times but not a single fold card. I think it turned out ok and it's pretty stable-ish! I used some bright gardening themed papers that are an old favourite and coloured Willow to match. Actually she's quite bright, you might need your sunnies!<br />

<br />
A scheduled post from me today to share my DT card for the latest <a href="http://thehollyandivychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/">Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge</a><br />
who can believe it's May already? I'm now on week 8 of lockdown, hard to believe the time is still flying past so quickly even though our lives have slowed down a lot. There's always stuff to do though. Last night after work I spent an hour starting to sort out 'stuff' in the joint office/craft storage room. I don't craft in there as there's not enough desk space but that's where I do my blogging and keep all my equipment and the bulk of my stash. Although, having said that I have a set of drawers and my craft trolley in the hall and currently a large plastic storage box of dies under the kitchen table, oh and just remembered a few box files of A4 papers in the bedroom. Oops I really need to get everything sorted into one place! Anyway, I then made dinner then had another 2 hours decluttering time before catching up with an episode of Power and a glass of red. It's going to take many more hours before everything is ship shape but I'm sure I'll get there!<br />
<br />
Ok, so for this fortnight's challenge I decided to make a circular card for a change off my usual square offerings. In the spirit of using up stash I used some freebie papers (including the little piggy image) from Making Cards, my favourite magazine. I've used some snowflake die-cuts and punched shapes to finish off my circular easel card. I made a second card with the same papers but that's to share another day! Please excuse the photo, I had to take it in the daytime so ended up with dark shadows.<br />
