Here Come The Girls with the Cutie Pies

Good morning,

I'm afraid blog posts have been a bit of a hit and a miss with me recently and will probably remain that way for the next few weeks until I'm on holiday from work.  This is our busiest time of the year with deadlines looming at the end of this month but then at least I get a well earned fortnight off.  We don't have any plans but it will be nice just not to have to set the alarm and potter about doing whatever we want to - hopefully some crafting and blogging!

In my last post I mentioned we were heading off to Liverpool for a cheerleading competition well my daughter's team won their age and ability category and became Jamfest Europe champions!  We are all delighted and extremely proud of their success.  We absolutely loved Liverpool too what a fantastic friendly city and we also happened to be there when there were lots of events taking place to commemorate forces day which made it even more busy and vibrant.  We can't wait to go back again next year but we're going to get saving as the shops are amazing too!!

Ok back to my card.  Today we have a fantastic new challenge starting over at the Cutie Pie Challenge.  Our theme this month is 'Here Come The Girls' and we'd love you to join in.

We are sponsored by Crafty Sentiments who have some of their fab digis up for grabs for our lucky winner.

 http://craftysentimentsdesigns.co.uk/

I've used one of their images for my DT card and coloured it with Promarkers.

The layout for the background is from a sketch I found on Pinterest and I've added some faux stitching to the papers to tie it all together.

Materials used:
Image - Crafty Sentiments
Promarkers
Crafters Companion Neenah Solar White Card
Colour Vision Black Card
Papers - My Minds Eye - Happy Day
Sentiment Stamp - Personal Impressions
Button & Twine from stash

Thank you for stopping by, have a great week whatever you have planned.

Hugs,

The Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge #8

Hi there,

Well it's the end of another busy working week and I'm a bit late posting my DT card again (sorry Marlene 😳)  Things are really hectic just now, work is busy and there's lots going on at school because up here in Scotland we just have 2 more weeks until the summer holidays.  More so this year as it's my daughter's last year in primary school so there's been leaving events to organise as well as transition days to her new high school.  On top of that we are preparing to go off to Liverpool next week for a National cheerleading competition.  I'm not sure which of us is more excited lol!  We will be away for 4 days/3 nights as it's quite a long train journey from the North of Scotland!  Poor hubby is working so he'll be staying at home and looking after Auntie, mind you I'm sure 2 days of cheer and dance would bore him rigid!

Ok, back to my card.  It's new challenge time over at The Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge as always it's an anything goes Christmas themed challenge and it's just for fun.  It's also a great way to get a head start on your Christmas crafting!

My card this week uses some very untraditional Christmas colours lilac and kraft!  I've made a patchwork background using swatch dies and added some faux stitching too.

Materials used:
LOTV Paper Pad - Snow Princess
Kraft Cardstock
Sizzix Noel Die
Spellbinders Square Swatches Nestabilities
X-cut Snowflake die
Ribbon, button and pearls from stash

That's all from me.  Hope you can join in with our challenge.

Hugs,
Shona xx

All Creatures Great & Small With The Cutie Pies

Good morning!

A scheduled and unusually on time post from me today to show you my card for the latest Cutie Pie Challenge.  Our theme this time is 'All Creatures Great and Small' so why not join us and show us your super cute animal cards and crafts!  We have two fantastic sponsors for this challenge - Di's Digis and Bugaboo!

http://disdigidownloads.blogspot.co.uk/
http://www.bugaboostamps.com/

I've used a super cute digi from Bugaboo for my DT card and coloured it with Promarkers to match my papers.  Funnily enough I only remembered I had these papers the other day when I found them in a bag in one of the bedrooms, but as soon as I saw them I knew I wanted to use them.  That darned craft stash gets everywhere doesn't it!  I thought the digi image lent itself to a get well theme so that's what I've gone for.  I've used a layout I found on Pinterest and immediately fell in love with, I think all the layers really show off the different papers and the black matting and layering also makes everything 'pop'.

Materials used:
Digi Stamp - Bugaboo - Mouse Big Flower
Promarkers
Crafters Companion Neenah Solar White Card
Colour Vision Black Card
Papers - My Minds Eye - Happy Day
Sentiment Stamp - Personal Impressions
Trimcraft Belle & Boo Enamel Dots
Button & Twine from stash

Thanks for stopping by, I've got a busy few days ahead, hope you have a good week whatever you are up to!

Hugs, Shona xx

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge #7

Hi there,

Just popping on to share my overdue DT post for the Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge.  As always it's an anything goes challenge with of course a Christmas theme!  There's still time to get ahead with your Christmas crafting and join in.

I've made 2 cards this time both mainly made from Docrafts/Papermania products I've had in my stash almost as long as I've been papercrafting!  I'm trying to use up some stash to make some space.  Although probably only space for more stash mwahahaha!!!

Materials used:
Noel papers and toppers
Xcut label and scalloped rectangle nesting dies
Spellbinders square swatches nesting dies
Buttons, ribbon, twine, pearls, etc all from stash

Life has been getting in the way of crafting and blogging recently, hence the late post, but I managed to have a couple of crafting sessions this week - one at craft club and one at home and I really enjoyed them.  I have a commissioned card to make next so hopefully I'll find the time for that in the next couple of days and keep up the momentum!

Thanks for stopping by to see what I'm up to.

Hugs,
Shona xx

Ribbon & Rubber with the Cutie Pies!

Good morning,

A scheduled post from me today to show you my DT card for this months Cutie Pie Challenge.  Our theme this time is Ribbon & Rubber and we are sponsored by the fantastic Crafty Ribbons.  So why not get out your favourite rubber stamp and ribbon and play along with us.  Remember you must also include a cute character on your card to be in with a chance of winning a prize or our top 3 spots.

I've used an LOTV stamp to make this cute birthday card.  I've had it a while but this is it's first outing!  I had to borrow the sentiment dies at craft club the other night as I came away without the sentiment stamp I had chosen!  As usual I've coloured my image with Promarkers.

Materials Used:
LOTV Stamped image
Papers - Dovecraft Back To Basics IV
Sentiment Die - borrowed!
Ribbon, buttons, cardstock & pearls from stash

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day.

Tilda for The Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge

Good morning,

Hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend.  I've had a lovely time catching up with family and had a 4 day weekend instead of the usual 2 so it's been bliss.  Back to work today but I will be off again on Thursday as the schools are closed due to voting for the local council elections.

So it's time to start another challenge over at The Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge as always it's an anything goes just for fun Christmas Challenge!

This time I've used one of my favourite Magnolia stamps and coloured her with Promarkers to match my MME papers

I've kept the layout quite simple as the image takes up quite a large area of the card and just used a glitter ribbon bow as the main focal point.

Materials used:
Magnolia Sweet Christmas Ice Tilda Rubber Stamp
Promarkers
My Minds Eye Be Merry Designer Papers
White Neenah and coloured cardstock
Circle and scalloped circle dies
Fiskars Threading Water Border Punch
Ribbon, pearls and die cut sentiment from stash

Thanks for stopping by, hope you will join us in the challenge.

Hugs,
